Sometimes she vomits right after she eats (it doesn't look digested at all so I think she's probably eating too fast and then throwing it up.) Sometimes it's pretty liquidy. I was thinking of trying Welness Core again, but when I did before it didn't seem to make much of a difference. I've also tried putting the food on plates instead of bowls and that didn't seem to help either. They've been eating Nutro. I think the vomit is from the same kitty 95% of the time. Nothing else seems out of the ordinary with her.

I didn't try raising it. I'll have to figure out how I could do that. How high should I put it you think? Just a couple inches?

They have eaten this for a long time. Sometimes the indoor version. The packaging has changed so I'm not 100% sure if this is the same thing!

The vet did not seem concerned when I asked her about it. It was at least a year ago I think that I tried the core, but I recall thinking it wasn't any better from the vomiting standpoint.

Okay then I would suggest you try fish based grain free foods ... as both of the foods you have feed are chicken based...

Where can you shop? this gives me an idea of what brands are available
...

a phone book makes a great height increaser

God knows I have enough phone books. I will try that.

I am in a pretty big metropolitan area so I think I'd be able to find almost any brand of food. In addition to the big box stores there are a number of smaller stores that I think are locally owned and I think carry some of the high end foods that Petco/smart don't have.

I actually had picked up some Wellness Indoor Health and have been mixing that with their Nutro but I see that is chicken based too. Should I stay away from chicken flavored wet foods you think too? I think this kitty mainly just eats some of the gravy but she does eat a little bit of the meat too I think.

Thanks so much for your help!

At this point I would try feeding NO chicken ( IMHO any fowl)for 6-8 weeks and see if any improvement is made

It looks like grain free fowl free wet food is much much easier to find than dry food! Two of my three kitties will eat little to no wet food so I don't think trying to cut out the dry food all together will work.

I searched a bit online and found TOTW Canyon River Feline Formula, Evo Herring and Salmon, Felidae Grain Free Salmon, and Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Diets Green Pea & Salmon Formula. I think all of these are considered quality foods right? Would you suggest any one of them over the others? I should be able to find any of them at one of the local stores I think.

Thanks again!

Yes...

IMHO I like Taste for $$ and ingrediants ... IMHO was not impressed with green pea and salmon as it is MOSTLY starch( doesnt that go against the grain free reasoning
) ...

If the problem is that the food is so yummy that the kitty is inhaling it, perhaps just change how the food is dispensed.

You fill it with a portion of kibble, and they bat it around to release it, and nomnomnom it up. Since only a bit falls out at a time, and they tend to eat the kibble as soon as it falls out, they can't schnarf it down too quickly.

I have a cat who bolts her food so she can be the first to finish so she can go bowl surfing through the other cat's bowls. Then she promptly throws up. Lovely!

I solved the problem by using some golf balls in her bowl. She has to nose the balls around to get at the food that is under, and stuck to the balls. Plus you can put them in the dishwasher to sanitize. :-) She has not thrown up in a while, so I discontinued them. I like that clever food dispenser, but I feed raw, so that is not an option.

Good luck!

Ducman and Sunstruck both good ideas! Luckily they have been doing better with the grainfree food. Apparently the wet food is tastier too as even Jack has shown some interest and he never even used to pay attention when I opened the can. And they eat up all the pate too--usually they won't eat any of that. Between the new food and the elevation we have had very little vomiting recently. Sharky thanks so much for your advice!
