I finally found a bedroom suite that I just love!!! And it will go great with the iron bed that I want to buy.

I ordered a second dresser. Plus 2 of these lamps:

It will be delivered on October 23rd!!!

Here is the bed I want to get. I decided I needed actual furniture more urgently than I did a bed frame, so I will get the bed frame at a later date:

I'm still going to go with the textured grey mocha finish on the iron bed. The hardware on the furniture is lighter, but the lamps are darker, so it will tie in the lamps.

Here is my bed ensemble/duvet (I have this already). Take notice of the iron bed!!!

So what do you think? Will it all go together? I suck at decorating and while I do art, I suck at co-ordinating colours and furniture!

Yes, I already have the bedding. I'm just lacking the actual furniture part! Beyond a box spring and mattress, and 2 half circle tables sitting together to form a circle which I use as an end table. Plus I have a 2 drawer filing cabinet. And 2 of those plastic storage things with drawers on wheels which I keep my underwear and purses in. Other than that everything else is in a box or shopping bags. My bedroom is not a very restful place right now. Pretty junky looking.

The Brick just called me to confirm my order. The sales guy said that he checked with the store here and that they are awaiting stock, so they can't deliver on the 23rd. Instead it will come on Oct 30th.

I'm soooooo happy! I can actually put my jewelry box out.. And the best part? More flat surfaces to accumulate junk/paper!!!

In January I want to get the chest that goes with the set. It's not available for shipping until towards the end of December though. So I didn't want to pay for something that was on order for 2 months.

I also made sure that the furniture wasn't going to arrive flat inside a box and need assembling. It comes completely put together. The hardware (handles) are inverted so they are inside the drawer for protection. I have to unscrew them and put them on the outside. And I have to attach the mirror to the dresser. But I can manage doing that.

Thanks! I've been looking and looking for bedroom furniture that made me go "WOW!" and haven't had much luck. I've been looking for almost 2 years! I've seen some that I've liked, but nothing that sent me over the top if you know what I mean.

I saw this set a few weeks ago and took some time to think about it and still look around, but I kept going back to this one. So last night I decided that since after 3 weeks I still really love the set, that I was going to buy it. So I put a great deal of thought into it and it wasn't a spur of the moment purchase.

I'm just worried that it's too much "beige" tones. But I guess I can mix it up with different bedding if it looks overwhelmingly "beige/tan."

I had been wanting to go with a bit of a Japanese style. Not completely themed, but with some Japanese accents such as a jewel box made from bamboo steamers, maybe some wall sized hand-style fans, some accent paper lamps.

I would still like to put in some Japanese accents, I'm hoping that it will fit in.

You're smart. I've made the mistake of buying self-assembly and then having to return it. Self-assembly I will not do, no sirree!

Love all your purchases, BTW!

I love that furniture set!! Sooo pretty...
And the iron bed too. I'd like to get one but they are so darn expensive in here that I shouldn't even dream about them.

Love them! You have great taste. I desperately want to get rid of the cheap, ugly, Mission-style particle-board-laminate horror that DH has had before I met him (nearly 8 years ago!). I HATE my bedroom furniture!

So many people I know have been after me to just bite the bullet and buy something because I kept going on and on about needing bedroom furniture. When IKEA opened up here all I heard was "Go to IKEA!" Personally I can't stand IKEA stuff. It looks so cheap, more like dorm room furniture.

I knew I'd eventually find something, but I had to admit that after so long my hopes were growing a bit dim!

The only thing I like in IKEA is the Swedish food in their restaurant! Your're right--it does look a tad cheap to me--and I've bought stuff, and guess what? It IS cheaply-made, and broke quickly. My friend also had the bedroom furniture, and it fell apart quickly. She's since trashed it.

Some of their household goods, such as the glassware, look nice, though, and I like some of the fabric yardage.

There is a good use for IKEA stuff--it's affordable--but unless I needed it for a dorm room, kids, or short-term furniture, I think I'd avoid it.

I know one thing, though. When we FINALLY replace hubby's ugly bedroom stuff, I'm buying real wood, not particle-board, even if I buy it at yard sales!
