Soooooo, I decided I'd get organized and start packing up my little suitcase for the hospital in a few weeks. I got it out and put it on the window seat and put the new jammies in it and just closed the top and left it so I could add stuff as I thought of it.

I'm sure most of you can guess what happened....

But for the rest of you: The other night, Brillo and Ziggy got into a spat about who would get to sleep on the prime spot--ME. Ziggy was moody and stormed off and was walking around and grumbling in the dark. Wednesday morning I smelled the smell...you got it...CAT PEE...specifically BOY PEE.

Ziggy had emptied his whoooooooole bladder on the closed suitcase. Beside being upset that he felt he needed to show his displeasure in this manner, I was upset about my beautiful expensive bag! I remembered I had a small starter kit of urine remover from www.planeturine.com . I decided to forego my usual peroxide/baking soda concoction because I didn't want to wet down the bag.

I followed the instructions and it took FOUR rounds and 2 days, but the bag is now odor free!!! Next week I will wipe it with a clean damp cloth and let it sit in the sun. I also plan to take a different bag to the hospital...sigh.

So, if you are looking for something that DOES work, without soaking an item in liquid, check out planeturine.com!

And for those worrying that Ziggy might have a UTI--he doesn't. I'd unplugged his Feliway and forgot to plug it back in so he was "emotional." It's plugged back in and he and Brillo slept fight-free last night ( and she had the prime spot).

Planet Urine!!

Sorry, some things just have ridiculously silly names. I am so glad it worked though!!! If I ever have a cat pee problem, that is a name I won't soon forget.

Also I am glad Ziggy is back to normal. And here's hoping it doesn't happen again!

Oh sweetie, I don't mean to laugh at your bag being peed on.... but it was just the way you wrote it!

At least you got your bag back.

Does any company make a Feliway to plug in so that humans feel happy?

I had mental picture of the suitcase caper and couldn't stop laughing.

I picked up my dd from school today and she said her school binder smelled like cat pee!!!! Sure enough, there it was! Planet Urine to the rescue again.

ALSO--BOTH boys have vet appts in the morning. The messes smelled different so I think both may be acting up. We've had a horrible time lately with the neighbor's uncontained cats coming over and spraying on our windows and enraging both boys (they scream). Plus the house is in disarray and I'm about to be gone, so they need to be checked. May put on Buspar to break the pee cycle if they don't have UTIs.

Thinking about putting our live trap out on the porch, catching the neighbor's cats, then scaring the crap out of them and letting them go, so they think of our house as a bad place to be. Talking with the neighbor is useless.

I HATE cat pee!

I'm sorry, I really don't mean to be insensitive and laugh, but you sound like an Infomercial! "Can pee, again?? It's Planet Urine to the rescue!!!" (complete with a red cape and blue suit with P.U. on the front
)

Seriously, at least you found something that works! I've had that problem too and roaming intact cats do NOT help. It's probably a combination of that and them knowing something is going on with you. Hope you get it figured out soon...you don't need the added stress right now.

LOL--I do sound a bit like an infomercial. It's just so nice to find a product that doesn't require saturating the item with liquid to clean it!
