Onyx..Why do u frusterate me so..

Well, We have had him 2 weeks.. basically in the spare room the whole time.. till a cpl days ago. we let him out in the house. He was happy to see us.. approached us.. and everything while in the room. So, we figured it was ok to let him out.

Well, Now.. he is acting like he did when we got him. He goes where topaz goes.. They Love each other.. great! But, now.. he wants nothing to do with us again. And when I picked him up.. he went on a clawing growling fit.. Where i Had to scruff him to keep him from grabbing my face.. Where the heck this come from?!

How can he go from a happy go lucky playful kitten.. to this?! What the heck happened?!

I have him back in the spare room.. and put topaz in there. And even in there.. he still wont approach me..

What went wrong?! I Don't get it..

Gee, sorry that happened. But I don't think putting him back in the room was a good idea.

He needs to be out with you. Just let him do his own thing, he will come to you in his own time. He is probably a bit overwhelmed.

You are lucky he gets on with the other cat. Is Onyx neuterd yet. That should calm him down. But let him mingle with the family. Just let him come to you. As he sees the other kitty socializing with you, he will get the idea.

But, keeping him confined is just adding to the prob IMO. You could try Feliway plug ins. Some swear by them. Please keep us posted. I think time and patience and giving him "space" while in with you will be the key to success.

He is 5mo old, and Neutered. He came from Animal control. So he is neutered and has his shots.


he was out the other night in the house.. the first night..and I Don't know what happened.. But he came to the bedroom door, and was foaming at the mouth, and drooling.. And was just as spazzy.. So, I Put him in the bedroom.. And brought out treats so I could get ahold of him and check him out..and after about 40sec of shaking the treat bag.. he came out..and was Fine after that. So, I am not sure if he is getting into something we don't see in the house, So we have been doing daily walks around the house to make sure all is safe. We aren't finding anything. So I am not sure. I called the Vet Tech at Animal Control..cause I Think he had a Seizure. And She wants me to keep a eye on him. So, I figure being in the room.. it is going to be easier to keep a eye on him in there. As there is way to many places to hide in the house. :-/ And I am in there MANY times a day playing with him. Even today, he plays with me.. Just wouldn't let me touch him... till I brought out the food lol

So I am really confused. Topaz has not had these issues..ever. And none of the cats I have had in the past has been like this. So I have been reading up on Cat behavior and talking to other cat people since I made this post. I am going to keep using topaz as a "Pawn" to show Onyx that we can be trusted. And he goes in with me every time i go to see Onyx.. and sometimes is in there when I am not. I have been in there about 5-6 times since I made the post. *Taking pics of them..cause they are so cute! *
