Bad mom, bad Majel

So Majel darted out the door last night. I got her stuck in the door, but she kept edging forward, so without thinking I grabbed her by the tail, then drug her back enough so I could scruff her and put her back in the apartment then close the door.

Now, for those who don't remember, Majel came with a sprained tail, so she will always have a kink in it.

Yes, I know you're not supposed to grab them by the tail, and I was mortified. What if I had wrecked her tail more? What if she wouldn't forgive me? I can't have her running about. I had to save her.

Well, I don't know if this is because she didn't process that I hurt her or she already had forgiven her - Majel is our mentally challenged kitty - but she wasn't mad at all with me! She just wanted to play string! LOL

So a bad start to the coming home process, but forgiveness or just plain ignoring the fact that I did something very taboo...

Phew...

I would have done the same thing...I have.

I figure a bit of discomfort is worth getting hit by a car or never seeing them again.

I'm with you, but I still feel bad, especially with her mental and physical challenges.

But she's forgiven me so it's all gravy!
