Need help with 2 week old abandoned kitten

Hi! I'm new to this website and I was hoping if someone could help me. On October 5, I decided to raise the abandoned kitten that has been crying outside of my house for a couple of days. He's a male kitten, very skinny, and his eyes were still closed. I immediately went to the nearest pet store to purchase KMR and a couple of feeding bottles. The next day, his eyes were beginning to open. I did a lot of research and many of the websites said that kittens will start opening their eyes around the 10th day. So I estimated his DOB to be September 25. It is now October 12, and I'm noticing a couple of problems.

1) I give him lots of love and I pet him a lot. But when I stop, he cries a lot and follows me around. What should I do?

2) When I finally pick him up, he stops crying, but he nibbles on my fingers. It doesn't hurt or anything, but I don't want him to think it's okay to do this. Is there any reasons why he could be doing this? He also nibbles on the towel he sleeps on. Could he be teething?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1) He shouldn't be left to wander yet. Set up a very large box for him with a stuffed toy and a warm rice filled sock. His clinginess is normal for a kitten so young that has no siblings or another cat. At this stage they crave closeness so you have to be willing to provide it. (it'll get a bit better after 3 months old)

2) It's fine for now. The baby nibbling it more associated with nursing and just wanting to be close. If he starts to get rough hand him a stuffed toy to nibble on. He won't teeth until 4-6 months old.

Keep confined unless your watching him(and sitting down as they can get under your feet SO FAST at times) Your his new mom and he is looking for as much comfort/snuggling as possible. I tend to carry my bottle babies everywhere with me and keep a few carriers around to use as a holding area when i cant.
Partly can be due to teeth coming in. my girl is a bit older then yours and her teeth seemed to have come in very slowly. How often are you feeding as it may still be hungry(try offering a bottle when crys to see)

As was pointed out, you are mom now.

I agree that the nibbling is a nursing deal.

You are such a good person to take in this poor little baby. Keep up the cuddling and interaction. The kitten will need this to become a well rounded cat without any social problems.

It's not hard to do, just love him!

www.kitten-rescue.com will help you. But some kitties don't follow the textbooks or normal cases. It is hard to measure an age of a kitten unless you know when the kitten was actually born. They have abandonment issues and all sorts of fear when they are left on their own which is why he is following you.

Do you have a hooded sweatshirt with a deep pouch? Put it on backward and put kitty into the pouch to "travel" with you. He will be calmed by your heartbeat and warmed by your body heat as well.
