Has anyone seen the cat spanking videos?

There are a couple on YouTube and those cats apparently love it.




I discovered recently that I have not one, but two masochistic cats.
Jade more than Baby, but both will sing and trill while I'm doing it and gripe when I stop.

A friend of mine has 9 Siamese/oriental shorthair cats and they love it. When she was on holiday and I was taking care of the cats I could never seem to pet them right because I'm used to being gentle with my cats.

My cats are always really startled when she comes over and starts slapping their behinds, though

I "spank" my cats too then I guess. Its always been a normal thing for my cats for me to pat on them. Not hard to hurt them but almost like a massage. They love it. I never thought of it as spanking before, but then again I also tug on their tails and press their ears down and grab their paws. Nothing abusive or hurtful, we just manhandle our cats here, they get upset if people don't tug their tails or rough them up a little. Sometimes more sensitive cats don't like it at all they get startled.


ETA - I don't ever 'spank' my kitties as hard as these people are doing it.

Oscar likes to be held over my shoulder like a baby, so I'll often pat his butt like I would a baby (not hard, but comforting). He LOVES it!! Once in a while I'll do something similar to the second video link, but for the most part, the patting is strictly part of holding him like a baby.

Brillo is a slap happy cat, too. She demands her nightly slapping or she will not settle to sleep. She also enjoys heavy "scrubbing."

I have to say I approached this thread with some trepidation! Oh my goodness the things people get up to with their cats!
Having said that, Pushy does like good spank too. He's a butt lifter and loves to be "paddled". Wiggies likes more gentle lovins. The guy in the first video seemed to be hitting quite hard, but the cat seemed perfectly happy.The tortie in the second link is just gorgeous!

I'll pat on three of my cats, firmly but no where near the force the people on the clips are using. I'd be too worried about causing bruising. All three cats that enjoy it are ironically what I call "extreme butt raisers". When you scratch above their tail they'll raise their butt up so far that they will actually tip over from it.

That is so funny, I can't believe they enjoy it. I don't think I could get away with doing that to Autumn tho. She would probably scratch and run.

Autumn is a huge butt raiser also, when she jumps on my lap I have to turn my face away cuz her butt is right in my face

In an effort to report back accurately, I did some testing when DH and I went home for lunch.

Both cats enjoyed the patting very much. Even though Oscar was on his feet, I patted him on both sides like in video #2 and he loved it (started rubbing his face on anything in reach). Scotty didn't react nearly as positively as Oscar, but his purr did get louder and he did lift his bottom up.

LOL I Do that with Topaz, he loves it! he chirps and meows and puts his butt in the air. My mom's kitty is the same way. He actually will stick his tongue in and out and meow as well! they both love it.

I just tried it with Billy and he growled at me and went to scratch me What on earth were those paddle things that person was using x

Most of my cats LOVE it. My mom's cats love it too. She calls it Pat Pat

Flash has always liked to play rough but i think she would kill me if i tried to do that and Soots is to soft haha (even though they bodyslam each other lol)

So far Chumley's the only one who isn't a butt raiser, but I pat all the kitties at the base of their tails. I don't do the two handed thing (and I agree - what the heck is with those paddles? ). They LOVE it!

I don't like calling it spanking though - makes me think of punishment or something too rough!

Someone would lose an arm if they tried this with Daisy.

Kuura loves to be 'spanked'. He gets totally crazy, starts rubbing himself into everything and meow in a very high pitched voice which he only uses when getting spanked. We have a home made cat tree we call 'the pride rock' because it just has one platform, and that is the place Kuura most likes to be in when spanked. If we walk close to the 'pride rock', he will jump on it and starts begging for spanks..

Hee! Thai has his "Tower of Power" where he jumps up to be spanked, same as Kuura!

Siam (RIP) loved his "beatings". My DH would spank him, Siam even liked being spanked with an empty 2-liter plastic pop bottle. I think the sound added to his enjoyment. Thai loves his spankings but I've never seen a cat love it as much as Siam. Poor ol' Spud doesn't like it all....he's 16 and arthritic in the hips, he likes gentle loves.

Several of my boys love "butt bongo."

I don't smack as hard as either of the people in those vids, though. Archie especially loves it... and he has lots of padding!
