Since last night Fog has been dribbling urine, and late this morning I saw that he had phimosis (fancy word for inability to retract penis.) Panic, off to ER as this is very much NOT a good thing. Very nice people, nice facilities (good thing as we were there for about 3 hours.)

Of course when the vet came into the examination room after the vet tech took his history and brief exam everything was back where it should be!

She showed me how to gently get things back where they should be if I have to manipulate him. (Odd, my husband wasn't interested in taking a close up look . . .) And suggested that in the evening I put a dab of - ready for this? - KY jelly on the opening in case phimosis occurs overnight.

They sent a fax over to my vet to let her know what's going on.

And oh yes, explained that the prednisolone was no doubt the explanation for his dribbling urine.

Fog happily gobbled down some food as soon as we got home. I'm using puppy pee pads so he will no longer have wet kitty litter stuck to his tail, butt, legs.

Hectic afternoon that I would cheerfully have done without.

Oh, what a day for you to have - but truly you are Fog's angel here on earth.

What a good mom you are to rush him right to the ER.
I am glad you know how to help him at home if it happens again. Fog is a lucky kitty to have you! My husband would not participate in any of the fixing either if he had too.
