Dang, these kittens can hide!

Friday I couldn't find Sweetness. She was hiding behind the entertainment center.

Now I can't find Light. She pretty much has to be in the main part of the house, since we have all the bedrooms and utility room closed off. But I swear she isn't there. She's good at finding hiding places, but so far I've always found her. This time she's been missing for a couple of hours, and I just can't locate her.

I once spent several hours looking for Cali, including a lot of places I knew she couldn't possibly be. I finally started shining a flashlight into every weird place I could think of and finally found her inside the piano!

Hope you find your little stinker soon.

She reappeared to eat some soft food, then disappeared again. I didn't see where she came from, or where she went. But it has to be in the living room somewhere.

Ugh - sounds like when Gumby was little. I lost her for days once, knew she had to be around as she was using the cat box/eating, but I never did figure out where she was hiding!

When Tumbles was first out in the house, he would hide under the sofa. I would even look for him under there and not see him! Hope you find her hiding spot soon!

She came back out so I got her and Sweetness in the bathroom while I could. No idea where she's hiding, but it must be in the living room somewhere. I may have to let her out and watch where she goes!

After Penny's first ever night with me, she went into hiding - I spent at least a half hour looking for her .......

Finally got a flashlight and spotted her under the stove of all places. She was a kitten so she was able to fit (The way she got in was by going around the back- which I blocked off immediately after she came out. She never hid there again)

Reminds me of when Aya was a wee kitten. I had to put her in the bathroom during the day while I was gone so she couldn't get into trouble.

Only discovered months later that while she was young and could slip into the DVD cuboard from the utility holes in the back that she chewed through th wires on my nostalgic Atari joystick game, wrecking it!

She also liked to scale the window screens, Demo-ing those too.

Ah, kittens... It's a good thing they are irresistably cute, or they'd've been skinned a long time ago.

We had the smart idea of putting Sweetness and Light out in a cage we have so they wouldn't feel so lonely, but we could still keep them out of trouble. When I came home in the morning, the cage was still locked, but they were out of it. Apparently some of the openings in it were small enough to let them out.

I think I finally figured out where she had gone. We had one of those little "kitty condos," the round kind with a round door in it. Carpeted, you know. Anyway, the door was facing the wall, and I think she squeezed in there.

Took you long enough.

I agree with GoldyCat . Also, how DID you figure it out after all this time?

Cats, especially kittens, can hide in the strangest of places, and they even find places where they blend!

It does sound like they can hide pretty well! The first day that Wessie was living with us, he disappeared. After a while of searching, we discovered him sleeping in the box spring of the bed. You never know where they are!

I was cleaning up the house for company the other day, and found white fur around the door opening when I picked it up to vacuum it.

Hey! Under most couches and box springs for that matter is that thin fabric that is stapled to the frames to cover. My cats tore into that and have a great hiding place in there.

When I first got my kittens a few months back, one of them disappeared in their bedroom. I kept them in the third bedroom in the beginning. A couple of hours later I found her in the bottom of the box spring under the bed. A tiny little hole in that material and she was in!! She came out like "what's the problem MOM, I am fine".

So I know now, when I let the feral's loose from their cage that they will head for the couch or mattress box spring. So keep that in mind when anyone loses their babies

It's amazing how quickly and thoroughly a kitten can disappear. Jamie literally disappeared before our eyes when he was little (10 weeks old). We tore the living room apart and still couldn't find him. He finally emerged from behind the radiator - there's a 2-inch gap between it and the wall.

Larry's spot, if he really wants to hide, is in the arm of the sofa bed when it's out. When I first got him, and he had become brave enough to venture out, one morning I couldn't find him and looked in the space that is always opened up when the sofa bed comes out. Nobody there. I looked all over, then looked more closely, and saw part of his tail sticking out. I checked the side of the sofa, and there was this bulge. I patted it and it moved!

I now know that if I can't find him before I collapse the bed, I'd better check there first, because he would surely be trapped if I closed that thing up!!
