I am trying my cats and kittens out on new wet food. I had a sick kitten and i was trying to get her to eat so I bought a ton of different wet food. Anyway, now I am trying to pick one of the healthier varieties out to see if my kitties will eat because honestly they have been eating lower quality wet food. They really liked the nutro wet food and the Avoderm so far. The Science Diet did not go over well. The Buffalo Blue went over fairly well. Does anyone have any opinion over which of these is better we still have Wellness and Organics by nature to try.

All of the ones mentioned other than Science diet IMHO are solid and good choices

HI you guys!!

My Emma has been on SD C/D for a while now after she had a UTI a few months ago. Boooo. Not sure why we had to put her on C/D for a one off UIT, but here we are. (I hate SD)

Been feeding her wet SD. Want to switch over to some better food for one of her feedings. I was looking at Avoderm Dry at the health grocery store. Looked great on the front, turned it over, read the first five ingredients and put it back with a huge huff.

I decided to take out a can of Avoderm, to my surprise, it was MUCH better!! Is this the case? Or am I WAY off.

My idea is to feed her Avoderm wet once a day and Dry C/D once a day.

Also, is the verdict still out on the Avocado oil? I was hoping to find a good oil for her, as she is looking fuzzy and dry. I am assuming because she is only getting C/D as of a couple days ago.

AND, I filter my water through a Kangen machine, it cleanse is INCREDIBLY well, and also changes the PH to any desired level. Is there a PH that kitties should be drinking?? I can make anywhere from 7.0 neutral up to 9.5. (it can make from 2.5 to 11 but some of those waters are only suitable for cleaning.) I drink 9.5 all day, and 7.0 when I take medication.

Thanks so much!!!

I don't recommend Nutro to anyone because of their recall and sick pet history.
Avoderm has good ingredients, but it's mostly water which is a waste of money IMO.
Science Diet is poop in can, so don't even bother. xD
Blue Buffalo is a'ight, but I think a bit pricey.
Wellness and By Nature are both good brands. Most cats love Wellness so I think it'll be a hit. ^^

Nutro and Avoderm are both decent foods, but overpriced for what they are. If you're going to spend the money, I suggest either Blue Buffalo or Wellness. I have my cat on Blue. She LOVES it (maybe a little too much, actually), and I feed her both the dry and wet food. Both a great brands. If you stuck with Avoderm it wouldn't be a bad thing, but, like I said, it's not the best, so you might as well step it up.

Good luck!

We go with a little bit of everything, heh! That way you don't end up with flavor burn or a picky eater, and can just buy whats on sale when its on sale.

Wellness, Blue Spa Select, Nutro, Avoderm, and By Nature are our regular rotation.

They like fishy from all best, but aren't allowed to have that more than two meals a week (fish has great omega fatty acids but too many minerals/mercury for a primary protein source IMO). For chicken/turkey flavors, nutro is by far their favorite and seems ok, although ash is a little higher than most. The rest are about the same, except Avoderm is actually their least favorite but has quality ingredients and they still finish it just not as fast so I keep it in rotation when its on sale for under $1 a 5.5oz can.
