Some years we have snow on the ground at this time of year. The last few days the temperatures have been in the low 20's Celsius. Yesterday and all weekend, the temps are supposed to be 25 degrees Celsius. My A/C is now back in my window. It's super hot in my apartment and will get hotter when I do my laundry because the dryer isn't vented outside.

Weird weather!

The weather has been strange here too. We had snow a few days ago. The next day it was 20C outside. I am never sure what to wear

They didn't vent your dyer when they installed it? Isn't that dangerous for you (breathing, fire risk, etc.)???

I don't care if the weather is weird. I'm really enjoying the warmer temperatures and very seriously dreading the start of winter. That season always seems to be soooo horrible and endless!

I'm with you! Each nice day, in my mind, means one less cold, snowy day.

It's pretty nice here too. Not quite 25, but between 18 and 21 for the next 5 or 6 days.

I know what you mean about the dryer though. The dryer in my old apartment wasn't vented outside and it got so hot when it was on.

Yep same kind of temperatures here. And we haven't had any rain for a while so it's been great for biking or rollerblading or doing basically anything outside.

There was one day last week, I think, that we had to have the heat on (for the first time this year) in the morning, and then the AC on in the afternoon! Crazy!!

Other than that we have only had the windows open, even if it gets up to 80 degrees, for a LONG time. It's been SO nice!

My apartment doesn't have in-suite washers/dryers. There is one washer and dryer per floor for 10 apartments. When I moved in here back in 1996, my work hours and the fact that one tenant on the floor was hogging the machines for hours every single day, made it impossible for me to wash my clothes. So I had to wash everything in the tub or go to the laundromat.

I bought an apartment size portable washer and dryer. I pull the washer up to the kitchen sink and connect it to the faucet and adjust the temperature using the hot/cold taps. The dryer is also portable, so it's not vented outside. I could vent it out the window I suppose, but I don't have a window kit to do that. I do have a venting hose connected to a container that collects the lint so it doesn't fly all over the place.

I, personally, cannot WAIT for cooler weather. Our A/C has been running non-stop since last March and it's still in the high 90's here (yes, at the North Pole (for Secret Santa reasons)) fahrenheit. My kitties want some window time!!!!! Although a couple of days ago the temp dropped 20 degrees in 5 minutes due to a freak storm. But then it went right back up again.

I like that its warm during the days, but I hate this layering thing! Tomorrow we race so we will be outside from about 8am - 4pm. Tonight is going to be 43F and then by tomorrow afternoon its going to be 87F... HOW DO YOU DRESS FOR THAT?!

But I do not want winter to get here at all! I like having the fire going, but thats it. I hate EVERYTHING else about winter!

Wow! I've never heard of portable washers and dryers! I have heard of, ok, DEALT with, tenants who hog all of the dryers. When we lived in an apartment, they had 6 washers and 4 dryers across the parking lot, in a small building. A woman who I called "The Barefoot Contessa" (she was always barefooted), would back her station wagon up to the door every Sunday morning, and use all of the machines. She only had a husband and 2 kids, so why so much laundry every week? She'd use the entire laundry room from about 9AM-1 PM EVERY Sunday, so she wasn't saving it up. I think she was being paid to bring in laundry from the outside, and use the complex's equipment, which I think is wrong, never mind preventing paid tenants from doing their own laundry.

It's been raining here since last night. I wore shorts today and our A/C has
been going off and on all evening. It's like the tropics here. We've only had our furnace on once this fall, on a cold morning. That is good though, it was making some noise and we have the furnace guy coming on Monday to check it. Better to get it looked at now before we need it. I really wouldn't mind some cooler weather, actually.

I hear you on the temps. When I left work yesterday at 2 pm is was 81F. Normally this time of year I cut brush at a clients backyard since is supposed to be cooler. Instead I sat out on the patio with some wine and a book (which isn't necessarily bad!). I have to take all my annual pots back outside as no frost is expected this week either!

Good news is my tallest ornamental grass is starting to send out plumes! And I can still hang out laundry.
But the mosquitoes are still hanging around.............

I had one like that too. My dryer vented into a pair of pantyhose so the lint didn't fly all over my apartment.
