I'm shedding tears for a cat I barely knew - a solid gray boy who showed up in my colony this past week in terrible shape. Got him to the vet this afternoon planning to get him the care he needed. He was very scared, but purred as the vet examined him. Unfortunately, she discovered he had a massive tumor on his bladder. My vet felt as weak as he already was, there was little hope for him. We named him Roscoe, since every kitty deserves a name, and I stayed with him as he was PTS, petting him, telling he was a good boy and how much we loved him.
This is so hard! I'm comforted, though, in knowing that Roscoe passed peacefully surrounded by people who cared about and are mourning his loss. Many thanks to all of you who sent vibes and prayers for Roscoe over the past few days. RIP sweet boy.
