I am reading the newpaper online and came across this article.

Ok seriously....No wonder the people who need help cant get it. Its not just the jerks who get assistance by being baby machines or the losers who milk the system for all they can get. When BF and I had no money we got food stamps and that was it, we couldnt get medical insurance, housing help nothing. The town this article is about is known around here as the armpit of Pa because its that run down and disgusting. There are houses everywhere that are falling down abandoned and just let to go to ruins. But noone does anything to fix it, and now the money that was given to the city to fix up houses and make more available housing for low income families and the guy basically ripped them off, not only the group that gave the money but also all those people who depend on HUD or who needed HUD but couldnt get it because the housing is limited.

This kind of stuff just grates on me big time because my side of the river is skeevy and is rapidly going down hill with noone to help and everyone to help bring it down.

Is it this bad in any of your areas? What in the heck can be done to get these agencies and cities off their butts to help? What can cities to do to get people in these positions that arent going to rip off the funding programs and the citizens of these cities?

Someone really needs to put some deoderant on this armpit thats for sure cuz it stinks!

Our sheriff runs this town, and what he says goes, period. There was an opportunity for 3 major manufacturing plants to come to our county, and the county only had to match a small portion of funding for the land, most of which was already prepared to build on, streets, sewage, water, etc. Over 3,000 jobs would have been created, after all the construction jobs were over with. It would have meant so much to this area where legally born American civilians can barely find job over minimum wage. All 3 pulled out after funding was denied in favor of building a new jail with the sheriff's name on it. It is the tallest building in town. He slipped this in right after his last election to a new term. People that have never voted are swearing they will vote just to get rid of this guy.
If you happened to catch the national news about the male Marine murdering his pregnant rape accuser, you saw this guy. He is the big redneck that looks and sounds like something out of the Dukes of Hazzard.
His family has most of the best county jobs at outlandish rates of pay. All this, and you can hear them thumping their Bibles all over the county. Apparently God is more fond of them than He is all the rest of us.

Now that is ridiculous. My whole county is gross. We need a new jail BADLY there is no funding and it seems like our county commissioners are currupt. I know first hand how diagusting and gross the country jail is for females, bugs, mold, 2 showers for 30+ women on discarded matresses and your lucky if you get socks underwear pillow or blankets. There isn't even heat down in the basement and their blankets are the equvilent or sheets. But noone does anything about it not to mention to fact that there have been sex scandels between inmates and guards plus guards doing drug running for inmates. Its horrible.

Then add the county offcials stealing from an already in debt county noone can get any help. If I could I would move out of this county its disgusting. I hate it with a passion atleast across the river is cleaner and better living wise.
