*the killing was brutal - the details haunting; use discretion b4 reading*

this poor kitten suffered terribly, yet the perpetrator is out on bail, and charged only with misdemeanor animal cruelty. JUSTICE MUST BE DONE!!

Would trying to start a FaceBook page be too vindictive??? I'm considering writing the DA's office, but I don't know if a CA citizen would have any impact. Call PETA??

I am completly horrified by what this beast has done to an innocent animal there is a special place in hell for people like him

I couldn't read it, but know all too well about this brutality! Whatever your heart tells you to do--do it. Nothing can be more vindictive than what this "sub-human" did.
These precious animals that are tortured to death have to been given a voice. Who else will do it but US? The laws do not protect these animals!! We need to turn our rage into something productive.

I'd write the DA's office and ask others to write letters as well - mentioning that they are voting citizens, etc. I'd stay away from Facebook. But well-written letters from voters can have an impact.

I think making a facebook is a good idea. It'd even be great if someplace like 4chan got in on it.

this guy deserves some due punishment.

Cookeville police arrested Davis, 32, on Friday and charged him with aggravated cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor.

He was released on bond later that day.
Aggravated cruelty is just a misdemeanor? Maybe you should write to the Cookville mayor and town council and/or the Putnam county authorities, to try to get the law changed.

He is laughing in his freakin mugshot!!!

OMG!!!!! This is horrible and Im disgusted and sick to my stomach after reading that article. If that guy did that to my cat and I knew where to find him there wouldnt be a place in the world that would protect him from my wrath. I hope he burns for all eternity for what he did Im appalled and disgusted that he was released on bond and only got a misdeamenor you get a harsher punishment for bouncing checks than killing a poor innocent life. I can honestly say I hope someone finds him and beats him like he did to poor Gracie.

Well, for a start, you get in his face and berate and taunt him until he takes a swing at you, and then you beat the hell out of him. Surely there must be some men in Tennessee that love cats enough to do what's right and proper in the face of backwoods legalities.

You were brave enough to read the article I just cant get the sad thoughts out of my mind of poor little Gracie lying alone all night,suffering....and what an emotional rollercoaster for her meowmmy - finding her alive; the trauma of seeing her kitten so brutalized; the rush to the vet, probably praying and hoping all the way and reassuring her baby that meowmmy would help; the calls to law enforcement

I'm thinking that the "monster" is somehow mentally challenged - as Gracie's kids are now so afraid of him that they won't play outside. IMO, a "civil commitment" would not be out of the question, except that as far as I know, that's only done to sexual predators.

I'm hoping that if enough people would post on Gracie's thread in the CrosssingTheBridge forum, I'd print it up and send the messages to Gracie's family - maybe send a copy to the journalists and a copy to the prosecutor's office...just a thought....

I really hope someone takes a ball bat to his face. I hate to be that way but I cannot stand someone who would torture an animal like that.

I wonder outside that city and on animal rights forums how publicized this is. Can you imagine if 4-chan got involved in it? It would be befitting if that dude spends a couple years looking over his shoulder living in constant fear of severe bodily harm.

I read the article. It made me physically ill.

I have no idea what sort of action would need to be taken to get some justice in this situation. As a Tennessee resident and voter, I might have more weight than people out of the state if we can figure out who we need to contact and what to say.

I am always so afraid that one of my cats will get outside and someone will hurt them. I am so paranoid I lock them in the bedroom any time I have to open the door that leads outside.

Yes, I think that being a TN resident would be more effective. Maybe I can ask my sis to get folks to write letters to legislators to have animal torture upped to a felony. I have been saying prayers for protection for the neighbors of that monster - those "kooky" guys that go after cats DO go after kids, too

what is 4-chan?
^^^^^^

4-chan is the largest english message/image board on the web.

The reason people send stuff like this to 4-chan is because they delight in organizing attacks against people and websites that they disagree with.

While they aren't always nice (ie: Hacking major websites), I don't think they've ever had a member hurt anybody in real life.

What they do in cases like this (4-chan was a big involvement on the girl who put the kitten in the oven) is find out all the information they can about the person such as their full name, address, work address, family information etc. and make all of that available to the public along with a full detailed report on what that person did.

And henceforth come the hate emails, all of a sudden the persons mailbox is full of letters, his work would probably be called/written to numerous times until it became a nusience.

Of course I'm sure there would be some form of vandalism as well but a few slashed tires/broken windows vs the life of somebody's poor tortured animal?

Chump change.

I'd douse him in gas and toss a match if I thought I could get away with it.

There are so many disgusting humans in the world. We could all take a lesson from the animal kingdom.
