Can someone tell me why I can not post is some of the general forums?

If you're trying to post in the IMO forum, there are restrictions: You must have a minimum of 100 posts to participate and be a member of TCS for a certain period of time. There are "stickies" in IMO and an the New Cats forums explaining that.

Then you get:

* 20 stored PMs
* 20 additional avatars to choose from
* 40 Kb in uploaded attachments
* Access to Your Cats
* Posting access to IMO, if over 18.
Some restrictions apply to the Members' Marketplace. The Premier Lounge is limited to subscribing, i.e., paying, members.

You're welcome! It looks like you only have a few posts to go. It can take up to 24 hours for your new status to "kick in" once you have 100 posts, but you should be able to post in IMO in the very near future.
