Another vent was my boss sending an email to the lab group dictating hours today. Funny how 1st shift has to work 9 hours and 3rd shift only has 8
He changed mine to have to stay until 4-5pm when I'm usually gone around 3pm. But since I rarely ever take a lunch I'll probably revert back to 3pm next week again. My TL told me that I needed to read between the lines, because I'm the only one who does a specific test, the "non-structured hours" comment was that its sort of up to me. We're VERY slow right now, and I'm done around noon everyday and have to twiddle thumbs til a decent time to go

The only thing that has annoyed me today is the number of keys for work on my keychain. They're heavy, and it always takes me 30 seconds or so to find the right key.

I'm still annoyed and upset about what a 'supposed to be' a very good friend told me last night. She had to do some shopping and asked me to join, so I did. After shopping we went to have a drink and she said "how can you put your money to something that stupid" and she was talking about my cats, their food and vet visits to be exact (I had just mentioned I took Tomu and Luna to the vet on Tue). I couldn't believe she said that! I thought she knew how important they are to me, I even met her because of her cat in the first place! She has 3 cats which she got between 2008-2009 and now she wants to give them away because she wants to use the litter- and cat food-money to something else.. I know she's young and I knew she was making a mistake when she got her second cat (I tried to tell her not to), but this is just sad. I wonder if I can just put that to the "she had had a few drinks and didn't know what she's saying"-category..but she definitely hurt my feelings.

Sorry about the lenght of the rant.

I left work today with plenty of time to stop at the drug store before catching my bus...there was only one cashier working, but still knew I had plenty of time.
I got in line behind a lady that bought one bottle of pepsi and fumbled around for change for 5 minutes and then decided to use a credit charge to pay for it!!!
Then she had to show ID and didn't have that handy. It was so ridiculous.
Why can't people have their cash readily available when they're buying items?
I did manage to catch my bus but I had quite an attutide...

My husband has this horrible habit of "helping" me drive by narrating everything. This has been going on for 8 years and is steadily getting worse. Today he absolutely scared me about 5 times while driving. It makes me feel like a bad driver, especially when we reach a stop sign and he braces like we're going to have a crash - fyi I have never been in a car accident with another car, just my own hitting a tree due to migraine pain and gravel spill. I told him how I felt and he is now insulted because he was trying to help and he was "raised" to "help" in such a fashion and I have insulted his upbringing.

As usual, I just can't limit it to "one":

1. Have had a terrible allergic reaction to the paint being used at work for the past 3 weeks. Today was the worst day so far. I feel lousy. It goes away a few hours after I arrive home, at least.

2. Idiots who don't use turn signals.

3. Stupid Wal-Mart, who renovated their stores a year ago. I couldn't find half the stuff they used to have.

4. Montreal Steak Seasoning. DH just got done frying up something with it, and the peppery smell always irritates my throat, gives me a headache, etc. Now, with the afore-mentioned allergy, it's REALLY making me cough.

5. The allergy has made me so tired, I have no energy to do much-needed laundry and cleaning (we've had a cold snap, and I haven't been able to get my Fall/Winter clothes out of the attic). I need somthing to wear to work tomorrow!

6. DH just announced that he's going to be plastering and sanding in the foyer. Great. I'd better get out another box of tissues...

Hmmm what has annoyed me today. The fact that we only have 20GB per month on our internet plan which starts on the first of the month and ends on the last day of the month and it's all up on the 8th day. I could kill my flatmates right now. I've got a whole month of research to do and now the internet will pretty much be down until the end of the month!

My life is like an air conditioner/heater/air purifier........I am constantly venting in one way or another!
My home is my comfort zone, atleast it should be.....I rent in an apartment building first apartment, first floor. The people who live on the top, 4th floor have 2 dogs. Both adorable but one has been peeing in the hallway when they are going out for their walks. Not only puddles in front of the doors, but trickles down the stairs!
They were aware of it, I could hear them in the hall, but they would leave it there like it never happened!

So you pay each month for a certain amount of Internet time? What a very strange way of doing things.

BTW, I love this thread! It helps doesn't it when you read other people's annoyances, it somehow diminishes your own troubles.

First annoyance was that every month I get up at 5 a.m. to do some cleaning. DH can be hostile when I clean so it's easier to do some cleaning in main traffic areas when he is sleeping. But it stinks like hell to get up at 5 a.m. for cleaning.

Second annoyance is that some jerk across from my house is cleaning a tiny backyard with a leaf blower. It's been going on now for a couple of hours and the noise is making me mental. I could have done the entire yard with a broom in 30 minutes.

Mine isn't just today, it's every single day during cold and flu season. I get really annoyed with people who are sick with colds and etc this time year and don't bother with hand washing. Maybe it's because I work in a medical facility, but I have a hard time not saying anything when I see someone who works with the public sneezing and coughing all over the place and then touching merchandise with their germy hands, expecially at grocery stores. There's never any hand santainizer sitting on the counter for their use either. Don't people realize filthy hands are a good way to spread illness?????????????????? I mean come on...

You're right Lorie. I take sanitizer out with me on my daily walk because I don't know what the heck I will be touching on my walk.

Yup - that's how it is in NZ. As far I'm aware there are no more unlimited internet plans. *sigh*

I get so mad at parents who send their children to school ill.

My mother ended up passing away due to complications from an illness brought home from school. If my daughter is visibly sick, she stays home.

I like this thread!

How is this for frustrating? My dog is driving me up the wall. No matter what I do she pees in her crate. With a blanket, with a bed, with nothing at all. She doesn't let me know she needs out at night, she just messes in her crate, so she needs baths weekly. Plus, despite weekly pedipaw use, her dew claws are needle sharp. She is sleeping under the blanket on my lap, and used them to pull her self to a more comfortable position- slicing open my leg in the process. Now I am bleeding everywhere. Sigh. Plus, I scar really easy. Like, every cat scratch, dog scratch and bug bite will be a mark for years... Mean ness.

I hate it when people ride in my cab, stinky, coughing, hacking, want to stop 5 times, complain about paying to have me wait for them, and when we get to where we are going, they say "can I just give you x amount?" No, you can't!" You hired me to do a service and you will pay for it, exactly what it says on the meter! If you don't pay the meter, I have to, and I am not going to. Then they say "give me your number and I will call when you can come back and get your money later when I have it." No, I am not using more time and gas coming to get money you have to pay right now. It would be a shame for you to go to jail on 3 charges over a cab fare. It is amazing how the money just shows up in their pocket.

Long rant
Very p'd off today, my mum in law is 50 on 23rd of this month, father in law has decided to throw her a suprise party, which is nice but sister in law who is the most annoying person on earth has decided to take over and she even though is in thousands of pounds of debt and is basically a scrounger has spent over £300 on the party and now made us feel like we are useless and not part of it all. I don't know where she has got the money from but we are totally skint after holiday and struggled to buy food shopping this week, my father in law has got a £6000 tax bill to pay so sis in law said that he cannot afford to get much, she came up on friday and gave us a list of what we have to buy!! It adds up to £80 and we just cannot afford it, if we tell her no then she will make us look uncaring and bad. I have bought mil a beautiful topaz rin for her birthday which wasnt cheap and we don't mind helping with the party but we haven't much cash to spare, especially with xmas coming up.
Whats really got my goat is father in law has this £6000 tax billl and has pleaded poverty well mother in law has been talking to my DH tonight and it seems that father in law has spent £7000 on a hot tub on her today for her birthday!!!!!! I think a simple meal would have been adequate and it certainly shouldn't have cost this much if people arent in the position to fork out money, I am fuming.x

Let's see.. Today (11th) is my mom's birthday. Lots of people there who I don't want to see because my way of living/taking care of things isn't done the way they want.

Another thing bothering me.. I vented earlier about a friend who said something insulting to me about my cats. Well, we ended up having a fight during the weekend. It wasn't about cats, she has propably forgotten it already or I don't know.. but I just feel weird. We were just few weeks ago starting to really open up to each other and now suddenly this? And I can't argue with someone who keeps claiming they haven't said the things they have and try to twist my words. I tried to tell her that our 'conversation' wasn't going nowhere but she just kept going... I know she has 'a bit' too much temperament, but I don't take crap from anyone. Not even from her. And disguising insults to compliments is just plain annoying and she keeps doing it, I'm not stupid enough not to know what she means.
Good for her that she's so young, thin and pretty, but no need to remind me of my not so good looks.
