bed time

I have a question.
I have recently moved and live with one of my friends. At night I would normally leave my door open so Tessie has access to food and water during the night (her bowls are in the kitchen) but since now my roommate is a bartender and doesn't get home until 2am, I wake up every night because my door is open. He tries to be quiet but it's not quiet enough, also the light from the kitchen shines in my room. I was going to just close my door and not have Tessie in my bedroom while I sleeping but that would be mean. She has slept with me for 6 years now so that is not an option.
If I were to close close my bedroom door at night with her in my bedroom, would she be OK for the night until I wake up for food and water?

Thanks!

I would put at least a litter box in your room if you're going to lock your cat in. Food and water dishes might be good as well. I know the main food is in the kitchen, but if you leave a little bit of food there, your cat won't go hungry, and the litter box will prevent your bed from becoming a giant litter box.

O, sorry I wanted to mention that her litter box is in my bedroom.

I would put a little food and water in there for her. That way you don't have to worry.

If you're a light sleeper, she'll wake you up eating her food during the night. She'll be fine without food during the night, but keep the water and the litter box in there.

Water is a must along with the box. But otherwise it sounds fine.

Thank you for all the replies . I will put Tessie's water in my room and will feed her the minute I get up in the morning.
Thanks!
