So I have a couple questions about my kitten. First off I was wondering if I should feed her just wet kitten food or dry or both? Second is what should regular kitten poo look like? Should it look like an adults except smaller? Well when my kitten goes to the bathroom its really really soft and light brown like a coffee color. Is that normal?

And honestly I know a lot if not all of you are going to have a problem with this but she is only about 6 and a half weeks old and she is from a litter from my neighbor as many of you may know. Well I have decided to take her now because my neighbor honestly doesnt know how to care for the kittens. First of all, they have 6 cats including my kitten and only one litter box...so the kittens are not using the litter box and there is poo all over the floor then they lock the kittens in a bed room without the mother or food...and I honestly could just go on. But over my house she has been here for two days and its going to be two nights and she hasnt cried, she eats, plays by herself and with our other cats (Which our female acts like a mother to her). She really seems happy here.

In such a situation as you describe, it was certainly justified you took her earlier. And as you do have this friendly resident being extra mom - surely even the best.

About wet kitten and dry kitten.
Wet food as such, is the best cat food for main course in the long run.

But it is good your cat is used to both sorts. You never know what will happen, so it is only positive she can enjoy of both sorts.
Our cats for example, ates only dry. Great pity. Our oldest can take a sample of the wet, usually licking off some.... They got only dry when they were young.

About the consistency of the poo - I leave this to others who have plenty of experience with small kittens.

Good luck!

Thank you for your advice! I will wait about the poo question lol

The reason I asked about the wet and dry food was because someone in the store asked me if they could help me and I ask if they had any other kitten wet food. They asked me if I give her dry food and I said sometimes then she said "Well wet food should only be used as a treat, not the main food" (And apparently this person was from blue buffalo) I would love some comments on what she said as well.

Congrats on your new kitty! With one so young, I'd do a wet food/KMR mixture. That way the kitty gets the extra good nutrients in the KMR (kitten milk replacement) plus the wet food is so much easier for them to eat. You can always leave dry kibble out for her to eat on as she learns to chew it. For many health reasons in the long run, I'd go as much wet food as possible. We've done that with both our last 2 kitties and they love it.

Is KMR a brand of milk? Or is there a brand that I should look for?

And Should she be forming normal poop by now? Its still very liquidy. She is eating Royal Canin kibble for weaned to 4 months and wet food of the same brand.

In my area KMR(brand name) is being phased out at petsmarts(they have 21st centuray and GNC milk replacers now.

If balanced wet can be fed on own, tho a few companys have straight meat or unbalanced treats(appetizers by fancy feast)

I prefer to give as much wet as possible and dry for the treat(or so my cats dont fight. All get along except if theres no food down its asking for trouble. My little one is currently eating(walking in) baby cat wet too. to much food at once can cause issues with poop. feed as often as possible to cut that issue out

Is GNC milk a good brand? I saw that and I just wanted to make sure it was ok.

We leave food out for her all the time but the poop is still the same.
And I love how when I went to the pet store to get some wet kitten food I asked this lady if the brand I was looking at had 'kitten' wet food and she asked me if I fed dry food too and I said that she sneaks dry food from our adult cats bowl and she said "Oh well wet food should only be given as a treat never an everyday thing"
You know...I wish people that didnt know what they were talking about would just not talk.

I asked at petsmart and guy told me it was preferred to 21st. Gnc for humans is well looked upon. Only issue I saw was it was a bit of a pain to mix-no measuring spoon and the actual powder is slow to go with water(i shake and then let it settle and warm up by using hot water to "rinse" the syringe/bottle

Ya I have gotten comments from a "rescuer" at a petsmart adoption event(not my normal petsmart either!) tell me I shouldnt be feeding wet that much cause had a full cart. I told her no actually your wrong wet is great, and to be honest my cats eat plenty of dry(cost mostly but also cause I have to have food down at all times or they MAY start a fight) then ended up telling her hey look I got over 2 dozen cats...that shut her up.

if she was selling food i dont know why she would not want to sell the companies wet except commision?

The GNC milk I saw was in a can kind of like a coke can...I thought it was weird lol and then it said something like it should only be fed to weaned cats/show cats like 1 tablespoon per 5 lbs. My kitten is like a pound and a couple ounces....how do I do that?

Yea the pet store that that happened to me in was a petsmart as well...thats weird. And I think the woman was a rep from blue buffalo and so I was wondering if blue buffalo did kitten food and thats when she said that thing about wet food...weird
