Mischevious during OUR dinnertime

So my bf is dying for me to ask thecatsite this question... Why does Neko do everything we tell her "no" to while we are eating dinner? They are things she knows is wrong. She'll scratch on glass, jump up on surfaces she's not allowed, and get into the window blinds. She doesn't do this when we're not eating
She has food in her bowl so thats not why...

On another note, we've moved into our new apt, but she use to do this at our old place too.
She's settled in very nicely. She wanted to go back home the first 2days but I believe she's accepted her new home
We're hopefully getting another kitty in december so she'll have a new friend to play with

Thanks!

Because she's not the center of attention during your dinnertime! All of those things are to get your attention.

And hoping that by getting your attention she'll get some of your dinner.

That's exactly what it is. My girlfriend's cat will constantly meow, and jump on the couches, and generally be the most annoying cat ever, but it's only to get our attention. He knocks something heavy over, then comes to see if we're getting up to come check it out. If not, rinse and repeat. It's the same reason he jumps on my face in the morning. I'm not awake and giving him attention, so he fixes that.

When we get up to get her away from what she's doing, she'll dart across to another room. Then we sit back down to our dinner and she slowly comes back to do bad again!! Definitely rinse & repeat! My bf will put her in our bedroom while we eat now and calls it her "time out". I let her out as soon as we're done eating.

Would placing a scratching post near the glass she scratches point her in another direction? We did that for the couch and that seemed to help.
Will adding another kitten help or worsen her behavior?
She keeps getting into the blinds even as i type... she never use to do this. I wonder if it is moving into a new apt??

I would feed her a nice serving of wet food at the same time you sit down to eat. That might help. Also, scratching posts are always a good thing. Make sure she can't get to the string for the blinds and leave them pulled up a bit so she can see what's going on outside.

That's a good idea. I always serve her when i get home and then start cooking dinner. So from now on, she'll get her wet when i serve us As for pulling up the blinds... we haven't got around to putting up the curtains, so as soon as we do, we'll be able to pull the blinds up. She did love sitting in the window sill at our old place. Poor baby is just trying to do what she use to. Thanks stephanie!
