Hi everyone, my vet gave my cat FortiFlora because he's been having soft stools. We still don't know what foods he's allergic to but we think chicken and corn products, I called the Purina office because when ZI opened the packet up it smelled like poulty, they said it does have chicken pork and turkey in it. I don' tknow what to do now. Does anyone have any advice on another probiotic I could try without chicken or corn products in it? Thanks for your help!!!

You can try plain acidophilus tablets from the store. I give my little 5 mo old 1/2 tablet 2X a day. Another option is Bene-bac that you can get at most pet stores. I'm not sure if it has anything in it your guy would be allergic to. Carolina posted a link to another one yesterday. Let me see if I can find it.

Here it is! http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=220805 Scroll down to the second to the last post and you'll find the links. You can then research the ingredients to see what each product contains.

I think I'm going to go look for this one, it doesn't seem to have any flavorings in it.

Bene-Bac Pet Powder
Dextrose, Maltodextrin, Sodium Silico Aliuminate, Dried Bifidobacterium Bifidum, Dried Lactobacillus Fermentum, Dried Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Dried Lactobacillus Casei, Dried Enterococcus Faecium, Dried Lactobacillus Plantarum, Dried Pediococcus Acidilacticii.

Do you know how much I should use and for how long. Paulie is about 8 lbs and he's not having diarrhea just soft stools. Thanks for your help!!!

You can also use canned pumpkin or organic catnip as a source of fiber. You can cook up some lean ground beef, add cooked rice white and give it to kitty to firm up stools.

Thanks for that info! Paulie is my first cat so I am still learning something new everyday. Are you not into giving probiotics?
