few weeks ago i took my cat to the vet because of her cloudy eye then the vet prescribed a fusithalmic ointment and i am not happy with the checkup for my cat and after 1 week on ointment this didnt help.
i took her to the other vet that we know and he said she has inflammation in her eye and prescribed with prednicare 1mg x 2 tablets twice a day for 5 days (so total of 4mg per day for 5 days) then 1 mg x 1 tablet twice a day for another 5 days (total of 2mg per day for 5 days) then 1mg tablet per day for 7 days. ( we have 2 tablets left and because she became very lethargic the next day, we didnt give the last 2 tablets )...
And we also have a maxitrol drops for her eye which is an anti inflammatory too and i believed this will have steroid as well.
after the last 2 tablets my cats become lethargic, slept for hours, only been to the tray once for a pee had a food and drink (this is on sunday). Then she's really quiet and she seems uncomfortable and weak. She has been sleeping all day but yesterday (monday) she started getting up twice for a food and drink.
i am going to ring my vet to tell her what's going on. She's not grooming herself and i have to put her on her tray to use it.
how long does the prednicare side effect to wear off? the vet didnt tell us about the side effects of this medicine.
I could not travel my cat to the vet as this might caused more stress to her.
I am watching her constantly.
my cat is 2 1/2 yrs old, a norwegian forest cat, silver tortie tabby.
any advise? I have been give her water (taking her water to her bed) so she can drink more and pee more to get rid of the toxins in her body.
I am worried that this might caused more damaged to my cat's internal organs.
