foster kittens

I've been fostering kittens for about 3-4 years now. I've seen alot of neglect and just plain old " not giving a crap" as far as responsibility to owners who do NOT spay or neuter. Anyway, I have a set of 5 kittens I'll post pics. I've had them for a lil over 3 weeks now, They are all over the 2 pound range. They have there first vaccinations and physicals the other day. All checked out fine. One got adopted out and is doing great! The other 3 are eating well and growing. (They were all very skinny when I got them) Then there is this one lil guy...he is growing like the rest, eats well but does not seem to be gaining weight like the rest(he is growing though)
He is pretty skinny. I had the humane control officer take the lil guy today back to the vet. They admitted him and said he had parasites??? I asked well what does parasites mean?..just worms or more?..they were dewormed by this vet. I am worried about the lil guy and now worried about the other siblings..wondering if they will go down hill...I am worried about my resident cats..all r up to date on shots and I clean with bleach the living quarters and litter boxes weekly ..The kittens had there own litter box in the crate and that was cleaned and bleached daily. Now I am nervous and seriously thinkin about stopping fostering...but then I think what will happen to these poor babies. Some people say "let nature take its course".. i just can't live with myself if i know an animal is suffering, hungry, cold,..just can't do it. Any opinions, replys. I guess the ?? i am asking in all this rattling on is..what about the other kittens...they seem fine... and do i get my cats checked???

that is my shoe!!!

this is the kitten that is sick!!

You are wonderful to foster kittens. It's not something I've ever done and DH would flip if I ever suggested doing something like this. Good luck with the new babies.

Maybe when they said parasites they didn't mean worms but a microscopic parasite like giardia or tritrichomonas fetus ? I hope the little guy will be ok.

How old are they approximately? How was the diaganosis of parasites made? Generally kittens need two or three wormings to be clear of them. How are the stools?

Kittens just turned 6 weeks....four kittens have normal stool..its only the one kitten that has watery stool. I am not sure how the diagnosis was made, the humane officer that I foster for took the kitten to the vet for me. The only thing I know is that they were dewormed on September 30th and had shots and physicals.. The lil guy thats sick was not acting sick..he was eating and playing. The only thing is that hes terrbily skinny and was watery stools.
