I know that in California a GS is very popular. It would probably be adopted within days. Do they have a breed rescue shelter where you live? In the US they have a club that rescues the GS from bad homes, or from people that just can't keep them. It is very bad to just leave him there. I would try contacting the spca. If you don't want the dog taken away, just ask them what they know about breed rescues. There are so many people that would absolutely love to have that dog(me included). Don't give up hope. You8 could even put an ad in the newspaper or posters a a local store. C'mon. Be creative. There has to be some way to give that dog a better home.

that is so mean, people that uncaring i dont know why theyeven have pets, when i was still at home at my parents, we lost our daushound to liver cancer, but after about 8 yrs my mom and dad wanted another dog, since we were all out on our own, so i found them a little mix breed, she had been left by people that had moved and left the dog in the house, and never came back, this was in july, hot weather, neighbors called police and they rescued her, she had been in that house with nothing for several days, now she is one spolied brat
so i hope this case turns out to be a happy ending like tippers was.

Update...

Well yesterday i emailed just about everyone i knew, and there are 2 or 3 people who are interested in the doggie.... But, yesterday when i called my mum, she said that the neighbours who left the dog behind came back for it

So i'm glad that it's not alone anymore, BUT i wonder what they have done with it?

I hope they haven't gone and abandoned it somewhere else
because that would really sux!

So to night i'm going to call my mum's friend (geraldine). Geraldine is the lady whose neighbours left the dog behind and find out exactly what happened, and if they have taken it back then
but if they've taken it to the shelter then I'll just tell the people who were interested to go there... and get it.

Anyway, it's looking slightly better now, but i'm still a bit concerned as to what made them come back for the dog. But then that's none of my business in the long run, so long as the poochie is okay and happy

keep you all posted

Ok, I wont go on further about what I would like to say, but I'm sorry not a very nice thing to say

guys... i hope i'm not stepping on any one's toes but i think we should just leave the 'people are scum/nuke' post alone... It may have been a little out of place but Debby has already dealt with it...
Not all people are scum, and I sincerely hope the world does not get nuked!!! Please refrain from saying things like that!

I used to have a beautiful German Shepherd named Sheena, but we believe someone stole her.
But I now have a 5 1/2 month old German Shepherd (who is beautiful as well) named Jasper.

I don't understand it myself. That's how my Mom got her cat Joy. She came with the house. Really sad, but now Joy has a good "fur-ever" home.

Maybe the owners of the house asked that the dog be removed so they could rent the property. Not many folks would like to rent a house with a dog already there. (I would but that's just me!)

I always feel so bad for the pets that are left behind when people move. I am sure they are so afraid and do not understand where their family has gone to.

I also can not stand when someone calls our rescue line and askes if we can take a pet that belonged to their relative after the relative has died. They always say " Mom/Dad loved this cat/dog so much" "If we can't find him/her a place to go to we will have to him/her pts." If it was a relative of mine I would do anything that I had to do to keep the pet. If they loved that relative how could anyone get rid of their beloved pet. I just do not understand people sometimes.
