1) Even though Jennie's Gotcha Day was really yesterday, I worked a 10 1/2 hour day yesterday, so we didn't celebrate until today.

The festivities began with a long peaceful afternoon in the yard

2)The sun leaves the yard earlier now: eking out the last bit of late afternoon sun (if you look carefully you can see Mazy and Tolly up by the house)

Jennie was in the middle of a bath when the neighbors dogs caught wind of us and started their deafening shrill yapping
So I brought them in. Not to be cheated out of her bath, Jennie found the sun right away inside and went back to it.

Jennie is afraid that picture makes her look a bit too penguinish, so I agreed to post this more flattering angle too

Sunbaths for Jennie, Tolly and Queen Eva. (Mazy was busy inspecting the fresh clean newly filled litter boxes)

Happy Gotcha Day Jennie!
Looking quite peaceful, lounging in the shade..

I know you've said many times (sorry!), but how many years is it now?

Later, before Mommie sat down to her supper there was a chicken feast (note the direction Tolly's head has turned in the second picture)

After treats the cats all went off to find a place to curl up. Well Mazy, Tolly and Queen Eva did.

While I was snapping pics of those three, Jennie found another occupation (stealing my supper)

Thank you! Three years now. Jennie's story is here:

Happy Gotcha Day Jennie!

I meant to post the pics in the same thread, but goofed.

Awwwww.....what a gorgeous girl!
She looks all tuckered out in that last pic, from celebrating her Gotcha Day!

Looks like they're all enjoying the fabulous chicken feast, with a little extra for Jennie!

Thanks everyone. I'll never forget the morning she came home. I could hardly wait for the vet to open that day so I could go get her.

I brought her in to the bedroom, shut the screen door, place the carrier on the bed and opened the carrier door. Jennie came out purring, and immediately jumped to the floor (it took her many months before she would get on the furniture).

I snapped her "before" picture (shown in the other thread) and hearing her purr and looking into her loving green eyes, I burst into tears. I had to get a grip fast though because I did not want to upset her.

Jennie nursed her phantom kittens for about four days, moving them around the room and under the bed.

I loved to watch her. She would lie on her side and purr deeply with eyes half closed and paws working at air biscuits. Every now and then she would adjust herself a bit, to give her phantom kittens better access to her teats and milk.

If I tried to speak to her during the nursing times she would give me a slit eyed sideways look that clearly said "Do you mind? Can't you see I'm busy just now?"

She then began to wean them by leaving food in her dish for them, in spite of the fact that I know she must have been starving, so I started adding more food to the dish.

After another five or six days apparently the kittens had grown up and moved away from home because she started eating all her food again.

She was integrated after 2 weeks, but I continued to put her in the bedroom behind the screen door when I wasn't home for another week. After that third week she started protesting being put in there, so I let her be integrated full time.

Hmmm.. I particularly like the apparent blanket in this picture. Looks like somebody hand-made that? Somebody who really loves you and your babies?

So glad to hear her whole story and to see more pictures of the kids!!!!!!!

Yes indeed, isn't it beautiful? That blankie was specially made by a very beloved Auntee. Jennie loves it!
