Hello,
I am probably paranoid and it is nothing. Anyways, my 1 1/2 yo neutered male, Oscar, has been acting a little different lately. Basically since coming home from the movies last night, he has been sleeping under the bed more. I think that my parents dog might have scared him as we have been living with them til we get our on place in a month. Long story short, he is normally a playful active cat always getting into trouble. He became more active last night towards bedtime, but today he has been sleeping in his cat tree or under my parents bed.
He will ocassionally this, but I normally think nothing of it. I am probably more paranoid lately, as one of my rabbits recently died from megacolon complications and I haven't recovered from that.
Oscar is acting fine in every other way, he ate breakfast, his litter box habits are fine and there was normal stool and urine. He is drinking as I saw him at his fountain last night. i did a once over on him, as I am a vet tech and no what to look for. I felt his bladder which was empty and pliable as well as his abdomen. No wounds and I checked his mouth and ears ect. He looks perfectly normal in all respects except the sleeping. I did get him to play for about 45 minutes chasing his wand toy. He was leaping and hunting it like crazy lol. I did start pet insurance on my dog and two cats as I am currently not working for a vet. I got Pets Best insurance which I've heard good things about.
Anyways am I just being paranoid? I don't think he's sick but I've just been on edge since my rabbit's passing.

I'm sorry about your Rabbit, I know it makes you worry more when you louse one pet. I'm sorry that Oscar isn't acting the same either, my cat Paulie is usually playful but over the past few days he has been under the bed more too. I am worried about him but we did BW and it came back fine. I would keep an eye on Oscar and if he starts acting worse call your vet, you would rather be safe than sorry. My vet said to watch if he's drinking more or less. Let us know how he does.

Oscar is doing fine. i guess he just got in a mood the other day, but i have a feeling it was my parents dog chasing him. He likes to play with dogs but she is too rough and he doesn't really like to play with her. Can't wait till I get my own place at the end of the month!
