when watching tv or movies even ones you have seen a million times? I always have I even cry while watching an old show like Little House when they think a character might die and I know the ending and know they aren't I still cry like a big baby. I was watch a rerun of the Dukes of Hazzard where they thought Bo and Luke was dead and I knew they weren't and when Uncle Jesse started crying I was sitting there bawling. And i still cry over Old Yeller Yes I am a sap I even cry when reading certain books.

dont watch much tv. Chicken soup books get me and one movie-baby boom when the baby is adopted out. I grew up with divorced parents and just reminds me of when I would be pulled away to go to dads house...bad memories

On occasion. I used to never cry at any movies or TV scenes. Until Marley & Me ruined me and I was bawling (and so was hubby!) and now it happens on occasion.

Good grief I cried when the fire fly died in The Princess and the Frog. And I cried at How To Train Your Dragon, when Toothless was caught and bound up and taken away. ( I swear whoever designed that dragon was a cat lover)

I don't go to the movies much, only through my work, as I can't stand movie theaters. But one of the young women I work with loves to go to the movies.

I remember when I took her to see Hotel for Dogs. I sobbed through the whole darn movie. She was extremely annoyed with me, she's non verbal, but boy her looks, every time I blew my nose, could kill.

The movie itself was actually supposed to be upbeat but all I could think of through the whole movie was all the dogs and cats in the world with no one to love them.

After that I decided NO MORE animal movies for me, ever. I didn't expect to get blind-sided with the two animated films I mentioned at the beginning. I thought they would be safe. More fool me.

But to answer the question, yeah, I cry every time I watch Terms Of Endearment. I love that movie, but it breaks my heart every time.

I always cry over sad parts in books.

Books are way more likely to get me to especially any animal involvement, movies not so much at all.

I never have, not even as a child.
Too logical and able to separate my emotions from a lot of stuff, I suppose.

Now the other day when a person in the behavior section came back to say they had to PTS their other cat, Swizzle, I was a bit choked up.

Lucky. I can't separate myself from anyone else's emotions, I've never been able to.

I was a failure at group therapy for that reason. People would come in and their depression would be coming off them in waves, and crash over me. It was awful. It's also why I avoid the news at all costs. Just can't cope with other people's tragedy.

I didn't used to cry for anything, everything changed when Chloe passed away. I don't think I'll ever be the same. I have a hard time not crying when those sad ASPCA commercials come on. I cry when I read the posts about people losing their pets... I'm so sensitive now..

My husband and I both cried at Marley and Me, too. Our dogs live with my in-laws and they are old (10 & 11) and that movie just reminded us how close they are, both have medical issues both get older every day. It's hard.

^Those ASPCA commercials make me mad. How much money does their president really need? With a salary of $473k, a lot of it going to taxes, if more of it actually went towards shelters and animals (instead of advertising) a lot more could be done. Think about what $100k could do for a shelter or for spay and neuter programs.

Maybe, or maybe not. I can be sympathetic once I know what a problem is - I don't pick up on subtle clues, body language, the more subtle facial expressions and about as empathic as a brick.
People assume I know what they're feeling/thinking or attribute some emotion to my actions that isn't there and get mad at me for it.

Movie wise, it might be part due to the fact that I do not like dramas. For the above reasons I cannot connect to them. If I do end up watching anything from that genre, it's more likely to be from the 30s or 40s when there was actually decent scripts and acting.

There's a big hit movie in NZ at the moment called "Boy" and I thought it was a pretty crappy movie but I bawled my eyes out when the father in the movie hit his sons pet goat. Gosh it was just so unnecessary and my eyes are welling up just thinking about it!

I cry all the time at movies, books, TV shows......commercials. I cry when someone else is telling me about something they've seen!

In fact, I was channel surfing the other night and hit on the end of a movie called Hachi on Hallmark. I had heard about this movie, I knew what it was about, and I had never seen it, but I knew what it was by just seeing the end of it. I watched the last 10 minutes, and I was such a bawling mess when it ended.

I don't know if anyone has seen it, but Richard Gere is in it, and Hachi is this loyal Akita he found as a puppy, and who waited for him at the train station everyday when he comes home from work. ohmigosh...just thiinking about it makes me cry. I had this impulse after watching the end to pick up Larry and give him a huge hug and hold him. I got his fur all wet!

I can't even read cards at the store. Birthday cards for my family get me choaked up. I have to take the card to the back of the store, where no one sees me. I well up so bad.

Movies....The Thorn Birds. I just saw it the other day. When Meggie tells Ralph Dane is his son....ok, I can't even go any further. Bridges of Madison Co. When he is waiting in the rain for her to jump out of the truck. And she has her hand on the handle....ugh.

Anything involving an animal. Anything.

But, I do well up at beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Just an emotional Irish gal!!

Over the river and through the woods...
DH laughs at me all the time because I cry at the drop of a hat. I don't think there is an episode of Ghost Whisper where I didn't tear up. And, Hallmark Card commercials?? OMG. Christmas time I'm one big emotional mess...certain songs or movies ("It's a Wonderful Life" for example) set me off. But, for me it's therapudic in a way. I know exactly what to watch if I need a good cry

Oh, yeah.....greeting cards. I do the same thing. The tears start dripping down my cheeks as I'm standing at the card stand. And Hallmark commercials...oh my lord.

I forgot about songs. There are some songs that I immediately well up on. "Imagine" by John Lennon is absolutely one. I hear the piano intro and I have to get out a tissue. And Judy Garland singing "Over The Rainbow". *sigh* Gets me every time. And I can't even get through "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" without bawling.

Very rarely, the only times I've cried is if an animal dies or gets lost/separated from the human who was suposed to take care of him/her

Careful farleyv...I remember that!!!

I cry more the older I get. That tough facade I had when I was younger crumbled away. I cry over movies and books that are sad, happy, or inspirational. The Wizard of Oz STILL gets to me!!!!
