Chipmunk Saturday

We have been outside bringing up wood for the last couple hours. Everywhere I look.....chipmunks! They are running in front of us, in and out of holes, chasing eachother!

I managed to get some excellent pics. I put some birdseed on an old wooden stool at the top of the gully. Lots of ground cover there, and stood stock still. I got as close as two feet away. I guess planning for the winter is more important than fear of humans at this point.

So, the first Saturday in October, around here, is officially Chipmunk Saturday! Oh yea, the cats are in their enclosure. I guess they are thinking "so near...yet so far"

Chipmunks are my favourite! They're so bloody cute! I saw a few of them in Home Depot yesterday, in the outside garden part. There was an open bag of birdseed and they were going nuts over it. Good entertainment.

I would love to see some photos, I've never seen a chipmunk, especially here in Australia

They make my cats go bonky!!! They scurry back and forth through the courtyard and and I think they burrow in the landscaping. The also scamper up the tree where I have feeders and nom on the seeds there!!
