Good Morning!

Today's question is about dreams, and stems from the movie, Inception (which I loved by the way).

What's the last dream that you remember having?

Mine was a few days ago. Everything seemed normal at first, but then I realized everything was a mirror image. It was all reversed. And then to make it weirder, everyone was speaking Spanish, including me. I know a few words and phrases, enough to get by on vacation, but I'm certainly not fluent by any means. And yet, I could understand everything that was being said.

So there was this big apartment complex which was being taken over by zombies. Some strange british man was trying to send packages up this tube to her so that way she would have food until the zombies went away. For some reason the zombies couldn't see him, but she had turned into a zombie. So I took the food and somehow got away. He was going to take off in his fancy sports car that was still running but he let another person (who was running away, trying to not get eaten from a zombie) take the car, and the zombies kept fighting trying to get in the car while I escaped.

So I escaped from the zombies only to be attacked by a mugger (who was like a Latin Mickey Rourke) who wanted all my jewelery. So I started taking off all the jewelery I was wearing. Then some people snuck up on him, threw a net over him and I got away. They let the zombies munch on him for a while and then they kept throwing his body into the ocean so that dolphins and whooping cranes could munch on him (he was still alive!).

Yuck...

I remembered it this morning when I woke up, but have since forgotten
My dreams are usually crazy and follow no particular path, either. Hubby thinks I'm crazy sometimes with how random they are.

I had a dream last night that I was shopping in a haunted market and was 3 hour late for my job at a restaurant I haven't worked at for 11 yrs. I had to get there on my new lime green motorcycle (no, I don't really have a green motorcycle) but it kept turning into a horse while on the highway. Which actually was better because I have no idea how to drive a motorcycle but I CAN ride a horse!

Once I got there it was a typical waitressing nightmare where the people kept coming in and I couldn't get to the tables, the food wasn't getting ready and everyone started yelling at me. At least I didn't dream I was naked at any point...I hate those dreams!

Funny, you should ask this, I had a terrible dream last night about Dh's gran who died last november, it was about her dying and her funeral, its really upset me and I've been thinking about it all day, I hate dreams like that especially when they seem so real.xx

Last night I dreamt that I was rock climbing looking for Willie Nelson's house.

Pretty tame compared to the nightmares I usually have. Supposedly my medication causes nightmares but not sure I believe that. I think that my nightmares were caused by the stressful situation I was in and now that my life has turned around I dont seem to have them as much anymore.

Here's a question for you all. Does anyone else have a frequent character that shows up in your dreams? Someone that you don't know in real life I mean? I have this biker dude that pops up quite frequently. Usually he is in the background just watching so I don't really interact with him...he's just there. He used to scare me but now it's kind of comforting when he shows up. I don't know if maybe he helped me in a dream that I don't remember, or maybe my attitude towards something changed? idk. But now when I see him I just know everything will be ok.

Anyone want to analyze that one??

Just this morning I was telling hubby about my crazy dream last night. We were somewhere. There were mums and pumpkins all around. My husband and two of our friends came out on the stage wearing short pajama sets. My hubby was wearing the ones he went to bed in, one friend had on red and black plaid ones, and I don't remember color of the third one. I don't know what the occasion was. Maybe they were having a fashion show.

Last night, I dreamed about looking into our chest freezer in the garage, and it was on fire (electrical short). Then I was at my parents' house, and was trying to reach for the fire extinguisher mounted high up on the wall, over the washing machine in the kitchen. I was cursing my father for putting it there, as it was awkward to reach. In real life, when my parents owned that house, it really was there, and it always annoyed me that, should we ever need to use it (we didn't), it would be very hard to get to. I have no idea why I'd dream about this! Nothing happened that day to make me dream about any of the elements in that dream!

The last dream I remember was my mom holding Bella. It was the sweetest dream ever!! I usually dream of talking animals...rarely any people. Alot of my RB kitties in my dreams and they are always talking to me.
I've had a weird recurring nightmare since 9/11 though.
I go to work and the terrorists have taken over the restaurant. They've changed the menu and I can't understand it so they beat me with a broom. I don't walk out because I don't want to get fired!

calico2222: In High School I used to have an incredibly hot red-haired Irish guy who was a weregoldfish named McEveety that was a recurring figure in my dreams. Scared the crap out of me when I met a guy who looked exactly like him in person.
Never did get his name, so he'll always be McEveety to me...

Yup, they stick with me - sometimes for years (and decades
) - others fade. But they're infrequent these days.

I think what causes me to remember or forget is the emotional impact they have (or the emotional impact that generated it to begin with? ).

The oldest dream I remember is simple, but one of my worst. I was 7 or 8 years old. In my dream, I'm walking home from school. Everything was as it was until I got to my block - and then my house was in the middle of a large field, and it got really windy. The entire rest of the dream was my trying to get to our porch... and I just kept going around and around the house, and I couldn't get home. I kept running harder and harder, and getting more and more scared, and more and more desperate. I woke up sweating and out of breath from running (and fear).

I've not had any recurring dreams, nor any recurring fictional characters.

I've had dreams in foreign languages that I don't know. One was in Japanese. I did have a lot of exposure to it. I've always wondered if I subconsciously know enough to dream it - or if it was jibberish and I just thought it was Japanese?
