I have read the thread regarding peeing outside of the litterbox and the other threads other members have posted, yet I still need help!
I have a 15 year old who was diagnosed with CRF 2 years ago. She is peeing and pooing outside of the litterbox in one area in the kitchen. I bought a new litter box, but she doesn't use it. I bought some enzymatic cleaner and I'm waiting for it to get here to try it. I've read that cats are attracted to the ammonia smell and will continue to urinate/defecate in the same area. I also just bought some of the cat attract litter. I'm willing to try anything and everything to get her to start using the litter box again. I took her to the vet several weeks ago and they did a urinalysis and she didn't have a uti, yet she's been doing this for a while. I'm guessing its related to the CRF..?! Anyone have any ideas of what else I can do? What if I sprayed citrus scented spray to the area, would that help. I saw her squat and picked her up quickly and took her to the litterbox. She jumped out and went back to the same area in the kitchen and pee'd. I don't know what else to do. Any advice would be appreciated!
