The younger sister of my best friend from school days and former next door neighbor has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It is apparently an unusual type. They were hopeful that they caught it early as it presented with symtoms (pain) that led to what they thought was an early discovery and removal.
They recently learned, however, that it has spread. She will need another surgery and will be starting aggressive chemo soon. She is married with two young children.
This does not looks good.
