Yes, I do drink. Not everyday, mostly on weekends. I'm in my early twenties, so are my friends, so yes we go the clubs and bars occasionally on the weekends and yes I do have a couple drinks. I never drink and drive though and try not to get to point of uncontrollable drunk behaviour. I may be 23, but I had my rowdy, drunk days before I hit the age of 20. I live in Canada, so no one panic.
I sometimes have a glass of wine with dinner, BF a beer. When we have company we over, we often sit outside having a bonfire or BBQ and pass around the brewskies.

I can't stand beer. Even being near it--the smell just makes me sick. Ugh. My dad used to be a hard drinker, but quit when I was small, he hasn't touched alcohol since. And my mom quit drinking when she turned 21 (not fun anymore, she says :p ). So there was no alcohol in the house when I was growing up, so I'm just not used to it. I had a mojito at Olive Garden once. . . mmm, it was good. But I felt dumb, like it knocked 40 IQ points off or something. My brain had slowed WAY down. And I kind of liked it, and could kind of understand why my dad got hooked. And I'm afraid I might get hooked. Alcoholism runs strong in the family on both sides. So I might have another mojito someday. . . or not. I don't like to worry about whether I'm going to get hooked.

I've always enjoyed an occassional drink when out to dinner with friends once in a while, but never in excess (I grew up with an alcoholic step-mother, so I've always been overly cautious about knowing my limits).

I had some work done on my heart back in August and wasn't allowed to drink before that (about a month beforehand because my symptoms were soo nasty). The doctors have told me not to have anything with alcohol for the next 6 months following my heart surgery while the tissue of my heart heals up, so as of right now I don't drink anything with alcohol for that reason. I honestly couldn't care less. I'm just as happy with a yummy smoothie or virgin margarita as I am with alcohol, so it really doesn't make a difference for me.

I'll vote occasional, but I don't know if you could even call it that
My father is an alcoholic (sober for over 25 years!) so alcohol has never been a big deal for me. when I was with my ex we would have drinks with dinner and go to the bar sometimes, but now I hang out with my parents a lot, so usually no drinking there. Altho I do love wine, love love love it, and tend to overindulge when I drink it... like I'll drink a whole bottle without really realizing it
but I do that maybe once a year? in between wine bottles I don't drink at all
and I have never been sick after drinking, altho i have had the spinnies

I have a drink once in a while when we go out to eat. Maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Wine is usually served with dinner at the major holidays. That's about it. Rarely do I have alcohol in my house.

I would like to learn to cook with it though. But not for drinking. I've seen too many alcoholics. My husband doesn't like the taste of any alcohol we've ever tried too; so that's another reason we never have it here.

I voted yes, although i have been around my mother who is an alcoholic (shes been off it since april) i dont see why i should let her spoil a nice relaxing drink for me i must admit i dont drink as much as what i did, I have a pint after i finish work, i work in a bar it has to be done
but because of working in the bar i dont like to then go home and carry on working with alcohol if that makes sense

I couldn't drink alcohol because of some medication I was on, and when I stopped taking the meds just never went back, even to an occasional glass of wine or beer. If we're out with friends or family and everybody is drinking, I might have an alcohol-free beer, but that's rare, too.

I have wine during dinner parties and on other special occasion dinners. Sometimes it helps the cook (me) get the holiday dinner on the table.
I always have to do an extra B-12 shot when I drink, though.

I'm a very light drinker---a bottle of Bud while I watch Survivor & Criminal Minds. I imagine 1 beer a week could be considered occasional.

We drink now and again, occasional drinkers e.g. if we go out for a meal, with special occasion/holiday dinners etc. But it's not a common thing and I don't miss it if I don't have a drink. Often if we are out in the evening I'll just have a soft drink. Neither of us are the kind to get drunk either.

Yes I drink.

I like yummy vodka mixed drinks. Can't stand beer, but love a good vodka drink.

Frequency: depends...... Sometimes 12 per MONTH, sometimes NONE. Like right now, I haven't had a drink in a few weeks cuz we've cut back on "non-essentials".

The most I will have in one sitting is 3-4.

I haven't gotten drunk since I was ummm 17 and in ER with alcohol poisoning

As AJ said: I too have lived with alcoholics, why should I let them ruin a relaxing drink for me.

So yup, I enjoy partaking in an adult beverage on the weekends. All the meds I take say don't take with alcohol LOL.... yet another reason why I don't drink alot. I must say I am incredibly anal about drinking and driving as I have a relative convicted of involuntary manslaughter due to drunk driving

I'm a drinker, mostly beer though, occasional wine and rarely spirits. I love craft beers and microbreweries (not all of them, there are plenty of crap ones out there, but also plenty of great ones!!) Usually 1-2 per day, sometimes less or more depending on the situation. I really usually drink beer for the flavor, and, well, I just happen to get buzzed or sometimes drunk along the way too.
I met my BF at a beer fest in Boston actually. Yep, we both travel for good beer.

I could go on and on about different beers I like and why, but I won't hijack the thread and bore everyone...

Cheers!

My meds don't totally preclude alcohol, but close enough that it's easier just to abstain. Too bad. I used to enjoy my glass of wine with dinner, or a scotch or two with a friend.

No. I never drink, my co-workers tell me to drink, but I really don't want to. Should I try? No, I should not!
