What happens if a cat eat bad (old) food?

Thread Starter
I threw away 2-week-old small piece of meat in my trash can and unfortunately one of my three cats found it and went through my trash and ate it. I cannot tell which one ate it but i am worried for their health since the meat was old. Is there anything I should expect to see from the one that ate it? Will there be symptoms? Can this lead to something bad?
Please hep...and serious answers only. Thank you.

Spoiled food (meat, cold cuts, etc) would cause terrible diarrhea and vomiting. The symptoms would be scary and the cat would feel very, very sick.
As a precaution, call your vet and find out what they advise in case you start seeing any such symptoms.

See what the vet says.
Though I wouldn't be surprised if the cat that ate it shows no side effects. Lots of strays (and roaming pet cats) get into garbage and eat spoiled things you'd think would kill them. Its rather amazing what their digestive tracks can handle sometimes.
