Picked up a treadmill today from a store called Lowcountry Fitness near where I work. They sell overstock and scratch/dent items for way under retail price. We picked up one that retails for $900, listed at the store for $450, and paid $399 cash
I dont see any scratches or dents, so it probably was an overstock.

Hopefully I'll keep to my word about getting on it every day for a minimum of 5 miles, hoping for at least 10, really. I started a workout before dinner because I was so excited it was inside
Til Rob told me that sumo wrestlers work out, eat, then go to bed, to gain weight. Soooo I ate dinner and now am ready to get back on it. It has different pre-programmed calorie burning workouts (walking and running) and you can get the Jillian Michael's i-Fit cards to get other workouts too.

I have to say, the cats are unamused so far
They all picked a corner to watch it from.

Going to get back on my 200 calorie 20 minute running workout, and then if I have any energy left, check out the others it has to offer

Oh, and it's a Reebok V8.90 model with a 2.8 continuous duty HP motor. I'm excited

I've gotta do some more exercise than just pole/silks/hoop/P90x once a week with my friend, and the weight lifting 2-3x a week with hubby.

Have fun on the treadmill! I've found watching movies makes the time go faster.

We put it behind the couch, facing the 55" TV
I also managed to text and tread LOL. Someone suggested if a laptop fits, you can play some games to pass the time. I also might do the movie thing - gotta get some more HDMI cables for the dvd player in the living room, I could catch up on a lot of movies I haven't seen. I also have my Nook for reading

Did 5.153 miles alternating between some running, walking, and various inclines 0-10%. Two and a half were pre-set ones (I didn't make it the 20 minutes the 250cal running exercise! Only made it to 12 mins but it had the speed at 6.0mph and incline rising! So lasting 12 mins was pretty good for me, cuz I don't run!) The last one was just me walking at 3.0% incline at 3mph for ~40 minutes (2 miles). Burned 787 calories. Whew! It was fun though. The last 40 minutes I didn't even notice how far/fast I was going. The only reason I stopped is because I try to be in bed by 10pm and it's now after 10!

We'll see if I'll be able to move tomorrow after my butt-whooping exercise with my friend.
(the pole/hoop/silks/p90x one). Hubby will probably hop on it tomorrow evening. He says no running or jogging for him though, just walking!

Edit: The cats are accepting it already. Nero climbed on it and checked it out. I turned it on 1.0mph (what it always starts at until you change it) to start exercising and he jumped sideways pretty quick
He was also poking at it when I was eating dinner. Neko, the most skittish of the three, was the first one to get close to it while it was moving, and just stare at it, completely intrigued. Hoshi finally got over it too and laid on the couch right in front of it, then Nero climbed in his tree which is next to it, and Neko watched from the table behind me.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
Woo hoo!!

Id love to get a treadmill or stair stepper type thing but the only place we would have to store it is in the spare room cuz BF would never let something like that out in the house. Hes finicky about that kinda stuff. But it would be nice to loose all the pudge Ive put on since I stopped working on top of all the weight I gained when I stopped drinking and stuff. Im still the same size I was before but squishy around the edges.

Congratulations!

I loved having my treadmill, although it does get boring at times. I found that using it while watching a movie or some DVDs of good tv programs will help you keep moving. The cats used to sit on the bed and watch me as I walked. But when they started getting too close for comfort, I decided to shoosh everybody out of the bedroom and shut the door.

Have a great time with your treadmill!

I have a video around here from years ago of Osiris on my own treadmill. He was having a blast... He's fall off but jump back on.

Congrats hun, treadmills are great!

My hubby wanted to disassemble our dining room set to put it in there
I just pushed the table and chairs up close to the wall - would hate to have to reassemble if we have another holiday at our house soon, ugh. And I like the look of it so I want it to stay

My legs are killing me this morning! But it means I sure worked them. I was going to fold the treadmill up into it's space-saver position, but figured that the belt would just be begging for kittie-climbing in the middle of the night, and we certainly don't want that! So it'll be kept full size until we need to walk past it to grill or whatever (its by the sliding doors in the dining room area - my dining and living room are an open connected space). We don't have any spare rooms anymore
One bedroom has our bed, the 2nd has a pole, and the 3rd has a weight lifting set up!

I really only used my treadmill during the coldest of the winter months, when it was simply too brutal to be outside (and believe me, there are days like that around here, when it's too nasty to think about going outside). We kept it in the bedroom and would keep it folded up against the bedroom wall during the summer. The weekend we would go back to Daylight Standard Time, we'd put the treadmill back on the floor because the days would be getting shorter and I wouldn't be able to get out to walk much after I got home from work as it got dark quickly. Come the weekend when Daylight Savings Time would kick in, then we'd fold it back up and put it up against the wall again.

We're putting the elliptical in the bedroom, too, if we can get it back the hallway and through the bedroom door. That won't fold up or anything, so it will be down all the time. And even though, the overall length of the elliptical isn't much longer than the treadmill, it seems bigger.

You're going to love having that treadmill! Congrats again! WooHoo!

Congrats! We have a whole spare bedroom dedicated to our exercise equipment. A treadmill, a shelf of free weights, yoga mat and exercise ball. I made BF install a tv on the wall so I could be entertained during my treadmill sessions.
Have fun with it!!

I came home from working out with my friend today, and found all three cats playing on the treadmill
Guess they became friends with it today. Two of 'em got yelled at for using it as a scratching tread though.

Though we have to now check and be sure all are accounted for before walking/running, since Nero has discovered he can flatten himself and hide underneath
I was wondering why Neko and Hoshi were sitting on top and looking underneath it. Rob saw a tail sticking out.

Don't think I'm getting my walking in tonight, stayed at my friend's house for 4 hours doing flexibility training (I'm VERY un-flexible and she has things she'd like to work on also), core training, pole tricks, hoop stuff, and silks stuff. Pretty tired and gotta definitely take a shower before bed

The weather here stinks, which is why I am so excited to have a treadmill. There is barely any "in between" time between the scorching hot humid summers and the chilly winters (though last winter I walked to the store or Subway and back a lot, and walked Rob's cousin's GSD two miles a few times during the 2 weeks I was off work at Xmas time). The 40 degree weather made me think of Jersey
But I'd rather be climate controlled for exercise!
