Would You Feed Them?

My 2 cats typically eat once in the AM and once in the PM.

I get up around 8am and usually feed the cats before I leave. If FH and I don't talk, he will think I forgot to feed the cats and will feed them again around 9am. This doesn't happen a lot, but happens maybe once a week (?)

I'm working on putting a sign above their bowls that we can flip over to show they've been fed in the AM and PM but days like today, they were fed twice in the AM. Should we feed them now in the evening even though they've had their calories for the day? One of my cats is pretty greedy so he's always hungry and will eat if given the opportunity. Will they be okay if we wait til tomorrow or should I go ahead and give them their dinner as scheduled? I don't want them to starve through the night but i also don't want to overfeed.

Me and FH are going to make sure we communicate to limit this from happening, but one of my cats is overweight so I don't want to overfeed if I can avoid it.

I would say definitely feed them again. They look forward to their dinner, I am sure. It's not the end of the world if they overeat a little today!

If it's a one-time thing, I'd say better to over-feed. If it happens a lot, they are going to gain weight.

Our cats are pretty good about tricking us into feeding more than normal, acting as if they haven't been fed. My SO always feeds them on weekday mornings, so it's not an issue. At night, it usually just depends on who gets home first.

I would feed again at night otherwise it's a very long time between breakfasts. Perhaps a smaller meal than usual if you are worried about weight.

I probably would give them some food but maybe half of what they normally get. And be more vigilant about communicating with FH (what does that stand for anyway? I know the H is for Husband)

He could call you at work to ask you if you fed the kitties too right? HEEHEE

Thanks guys! I kinda new the answer once I read the thread back to myself.
I am so used to feeding them that sometimes I do it out of habit, although I've relinquished my morning duties to FH.

FH=future husband
We've been engaged for a few months now and between the wedding planning boards and TCS, my lingo is switching over
