Should I be worried?

A few weeks ago, my 5-year-old nephew was helping me unload stuff from my car and made the comment, "Hey, there's fur in here."

The parking lot attendant where I work refers to my car, a black Nissan, as the "Cat Mobile," and sometimes meows at me when I get to work instead of saying "Good morning."

Last week, I posted about spending the day at work smelling like tuna, due to an unfortunate incident involving my dress pants and can of Fancy Feast.

At Petsmart this weekend, I didn't even have to say anything to one of the employees. She saw me come in and went over to unlock the door so I could have access to the rescued cats available for adoption to check on new addition. As I was leaving, another employee came up behind me, tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Hey Sr. Eileen, how's Pete?" How the heck did he know my name and my cat's name?

Should I be worried, guys? Are these incidents a sign of something?

A couple of weeks ago I went to the doctor and he said.... I can tell you don't have an orange cat!

Luckily it was the doctor, and not a client!

At least you didn't go out smelling like cat urine!

Several years ago, I was a Zoning Officer for several municipalities in my county. Some people couldn't remember my name. So when they'd call into the office, the conversation would usually go like this: Hello, this is so-and-so. I'm looking for the Zoning Officer. I can't remember her name, but she loves cats and she drives a red PT Cruiser!"

The word gets out!

I think you are doing great! When I was in Sarajevo, when friends or colleagues arrived at the airport to take a taxi to my house, as soon as they gave the address the driver would look at them and say 'machke?' which means 'cats?' At least we crazy cat people are raising awareness all over the world, which can't be a bad thing.
