Fourteen-year-old female polar bear, named 'Pelusa' stands in her cage in the Mendoza Zoo, 1100 kilometers northwest of Buenos Aires, July 18, 2003. Normally white, Pelusa turned violet after veterinarians administered a medicine to treat her for a skin condition. Her veterinarians said her coat should turn normal again within a month. My cat Chester had to have sulfer dips when he was infested with Demodex mites. All of the white fur on his body turned neon yellow! He was quite a sight. I would have preferred him to be purple to the yellow!

What a great looking purple bear!
