Morning everyone!

Nothing too creative today.

How do you prefer to pay for things: Cash, debit card, or credit card?

I use my debit card for basically everything. It's just so much more convenient than carrying a bunch of cash everywhere.

Debit card all the time. I only have enough cash to pay for school lunches.

I am always amazed at people who carry around cash. I work in a bank and quite a few customers just cash their paychecks and walk around with cash. I tried to tell them if they loose their wallet, their cash is gone but one can report a debit card lost and have it immediately closed thus saving their money.

Debit. Plus with my bank they add a dollar to the transaction and transfer it to a savings account which is great for me! I am really bad about putting money aside so it helps a lot!
I do try to keep at least $20 in cash, including a couple dollar bills, for things like parking, or tips, or anything like that.

You bring up an interesting point. I usually add my tip on the receipt for my debit card instead of paying cash. Is there a difference?

I have learned from previous mistakes of paying by card and getting carried away, so I tend to pay for most things by cash now...saves me racking up a debt!

Yes, I believe (at least this is how it used to be) that if the tip was on credit, it would go on your paycheck, but cash you got to take home. Minimum wage for waiters is $2.13 here in TN so I try to tip in cash when I can so they can have the money then instead of waiting. (Unless we spent a lot, then it usually goes on the card because we dont have the cash)

Been using cash lately, except when I go to the gas stations because I'd rather just pump my gas and go without waiting. Started using it more when we took our road trip - paid for everything in cash except the hotel rooms.

Also, hubby prefers we use cash now because he usually brings home cash from work. That way, the bills can be paid out of the bank account (e-paying and checks), and my paycheck is direct deposit, while we use cash for restaurants, grocery shopping, etc.

We keep the cards on us just in case we run short on cash or forget to bring some with us.

We pay for almost everything with cash. We don't own any credit cards, and it is far too easy to overdraw our acct with a debit card. With cash it is easy to see how much money you have or have left and you can't spend beyond that. The most I carry on me at any given time is $20 or so. Enough to buy groceries or whatnot. We don't buy much of anything other than that, and if we do then we bring enough along in order to do so.

Mine adds .50 cents though not a dollar.

If it's less than $10, I usually pay cash; over $10 or to pay the bills I write a check. I don't trust myself to keep track with a debit card.

Cash.
Paid off my debts and destroyed all my credit cards some 15 years ago, being debt free is too good to give up.

I primarily use my debit card. I write checks for the rent and church only. I will try to get cash for the gas station since they charge .45 per debit transaction. sometimes I will get $20 out for little things here and there.

Debit. I almost never have cash after someone stole money out of my wallet at work.

The last money that I had, and the money that was going towards cat food. (Mom bummed me some money to get cat food.)

Credit cards. I have direct deposit for my paycheck, and most ATMS around here charge to use my bank, so I don't carry much cash. Also, I use a couple that give me reward points, esp. the one I eBay with (I eBay a LOT).

Also, especially with eBay lately, I've been having trouble with merhcandise that either doesn't arrive, or gets lost in the mail. I find that the credit card companies are very willing to go to bat for you. With cash, it's much harder to get satisfaction with problems.

Credit cards are very useful, but only if used wisely. In other wordas, don't spend too much, AND pay off your balance in full every month, which is what I have always done.

I prefer to pay with cash because it is easier for me to track of a budget.
I have one cc and I don't like using it. I do not have a debit card that I use and I rarely use checks.
