Pirate the One Eyed Wonder sitting on mommy's lap:
hi mom, whatcha up to?
[/IMG]

And, here are my Partners In Crime, Pirate and Harley. Several pics exist of these perpetrators. The quality of the pic is bad, but the expressions are true to form, as they stare DH down for a bite of his lunch:
Please feed us, dad. Dat sandwich looks so good...pweese dad..dat mean mommy donnot feed us nuffin'. We nebber eat..we so hungree...PWEESE WE STARBIN'
[/IMG]

[/IMG]

And now let's bug mom:
Hi Mommy! Whatcha eatin? Can we habs a bite? Pweese? Are you full yet? We be berry hungree...
[/IMG]

Here's the little imp, Sarah. She likes to perch up high and stare at things that mommy can't see:
I see dead ppl....hehe me just likes ta mess wiff mommy's head
[/IMG]

She likes to sleep in the window when it's summertime:

And, our dear, clumsy, Hard of Hearing Herman, who meows so loudly for treats that it actually almost hurts my ears. When I yell his name while he's right in front of me on my lap, he hears it, but doesn't know where it's coming from, so he jerks his head away from me like he heard it coming from another room:

WHAT??? HUH? WHO CALLED ME??? WHA?????
[/IMG]

Apparently his ear was hurt or infected when he was a stray:
Oh you called me...MOM HEY MOM..MOM HEY..MOM MOM..MOM..got any treats?
[/IMG]

Here is my dear Grace. She got sick the night before my July surgery. I was devastated to have to leave her..and we had to help her to the Bridge a week later. I still cry for my girl. Autoimmune hemolytic (sp?) anemia, 8 yrs old, suddenly. She was the biggest lover, and biggest baby..
[/IMG]
[/IMG]

Victoria, I miss you too. She left us back in the winter. She was declining, the old cranky girl..our cranky calico...Pirate always agitated her, he's ornery like that. But, she'd just hiss at him and go about her business. She lost her eye to cancer in 2007. She was about 17 when she went to the Bridge.

And our Bridge boy, Lucky Lee. He was a very sick stray who only lived with us for about 2 years. He was a street cat, did what he wanted and the others didn't bother him..he was sweet though, and a lap cat..he had cancer, thyroid disease, deaf, and very old..he left us for the Bridge in 2007.
[/IMG]

When I learn how to use the scan on my printer, I'll post more. And, some of my first kitty, Kitty.

Thanks for looking!

Oh you have such a nice group of past and present friends!! I just love their conversations!!!

I think it is wonderful how you include your Bridge kitties. They never really leave our lives, do they?

And how you have the love for all the special needs kitties. You and your DH are special people.

My cat Gel sleeps in the window exactly the same way....on the hottest days in the sun......weird.

What I can't believe is the similarities between so many of our kitties! The one-eyed wonder, your deaf kitty Lucky Lee
(though ours happens to be the one-eyed wonder, deaf kitty)... BTW - was Lucky Lee loud too? I know Herman is... but it always seems like the deaf/hard-of-hearing kitties are the loudest!
And then Grace...
Our Tuxedo didn't actually have feline hemolytic anemia, but he had/has something very similar. We were lucky to have caught it early enough, and we had an AMAZING vet. We fought for three/four years - and I'll never forget that day the vet said "I'm out of bullets." But he took the long shot... (depomedrol shot instead of pred pills)... and it worked.
It took a long time to get him out of the woods from there, but we are VERY lucky. And I'm just so sorry about the timing of her loss too.

Wow, what great pics and stories!

Yes, your Pirate and Harley definitely look like they're starving and neglected.. Poor babies!

All of your other cats are very pretty as well, I can see they all were their own unique characters.
Thanks for sharing, and I can't wait to see more!!

Thanks, otto and DarkMavis.
They definitely have their very own distinct personalities, and we've been lucky that they all got along for the most part--Pirate would pick on Victoria once in awhile, but it never went beyond a few hisses. I tell ya, if I ever won the lottery, I'd have a bigger setup for fostering greyhounds that can no longer race and need a home, and an area for a fostering a couple cats--actually I would like to care for terminally ill homeless cats. Lucky Lee was such a nice kitty, and the thought of him (and thousands of others) trying to survive as a stray while he was ill really haunts me. I think God or some higher power sent him to me, because one day he just showed up out of the blue, laying in my back yard, and literally didn't leave. Like he knew he came home. (well, at least I sort of like to think it happened that way. In reality, my yard was probably a great place to lay in the sun
).

Hey LDG! I'm glad your tuxedo got better! I still don't understand how Grace went downhill so quickly. The whole thing was so bad, and such bad timing. I was in the hospital for five days and DH was home nursing Grace while she went in and out of the hospital, then I was laid up in bed, DH bringing her to me every hour to syringe the special vet food in her, and water in her, but she just did not come back. Sometimes I think if I hadn't gone in the hospital and been bedridden that I could have done more for her.

Good ol' deaf Lucky Lee was loud
come to think of it. The difference was that he wasn't a chatter box like Herman. Lucky meowed occasionally. Herman meows A LOT! It's hilarious!! If he hears paper crinkle, look out MEOW MEOW MEOW! Or if I go in the right top kitchen cupboard..MEOW MEOW. He's like, "hey, I'm old and hard of hearing, but I'm not stupid!"

Thanks, triumph1, Kailie and farleyv, glad you enjoyed them. I don't have a digital camera yet, so these are just from my cell phone. One of these days we'll get a camera.

When I talk about our fur family, I always have to include the Bridge kids. Victoria and Grace left us so recently that I still feel a little raw; it's still hard to think of them, but I remember all of them just like they only left yesterday. Even Kitty, who has been gone since 1999. And my dear Wag, and Lee Ann, my first greyhounds, and my childhood dogs, Pepper and Xanadu. (but this is a cat forum)

And, I'm one of those people who talk for them all the time, as if they the voices of two year old kids, just cuz they're my kids. I always say, I don't have human kids, but I have furkids! Or maybe I'm the only one, gawd, maybe I'm the only one who talks for their cats...maybe I've been cooped up in the house too long!

Thanks for the compliments. I'm like the proud mom or dad who whip out their wallet to show pics of their children. Hee hee, I just showed you a few here from my cyber wallet!

Too cute duo, Pirate just looks like winking his eyes. Love their pics together begging for a bit from your DH's sandwich...
