I have always used Photobucket because it's the only way I know how. I don't seem to know how to upload directly from my pc, but I sure wish I could learn. I've tried using the insert link here at the forum, and copy/pasting the path obtained by right clicking on Properties of a pic on my pc. The path of course, starts with c:\\DocumentsandSettings\\My Docs, etc. etc. and it doesn't work because it's not an http:// type link.

So, do you upload from Photobucket? I'm having probs uploading pics on that site. The bulk uploader isn't working. Is there another really nice free site I could use other than Photobucket?

Or...is it something easy that I'm not doing when I try to upload directly from my pc?

How do you guys and gals do it? Thanks so much in advance for any tips!!

I can't use the bulk uploader on Photobucket either.. So, I just upload each pic individually. Then when the pic is upoaded, you copy the img link under the pic and paste it into a thread. Idk any other sites other than Photobucket, so I hope it helped..

You have to upload your pics from your pc to an online photo hosting site like Photobucket, Webshots, Fotki, PictureTrail, or Picasa (among others). Then, in your post, you click the box with the mountains in it, then paste the addy from your photo hosting site into the box.

I wonder if Photobucket is having a mass problem with the bulk uploader.
Thanks stephanietx, I'll check out the other ones. Maybe I'll like one of them better than Photobucket.

triumph1, that is a nice pic. Your cat is really gorgeous.

So basically from what everyone said, you must use one of the websites like Photobucket, etc. and cannot just upload from the pc.

Well, I'll try Picasa or another one. But, I hope the bulk uploader gets fixed on Photobucket since I have already gotten a good start on that site.

thanks

Hi Sherry! I use Photobucket. I've never tried to use the bulk uploader - I just use "control" while clicking to highlight a number of pictures to upload at one time and it just goes....

And like Trimph, I just copy the image file tags and post them here!

Want to see that one-eyed wonder!

I've had no problems with the bulk uploader, but I also don't try more than 5-6 images at a time.....I forget where I was. However, they are notorious for new and improving things which generally means it works worse than before

Well I can upload one pic at a time on Photobucket, but when I do bulk uploader, a message comes up something about Trust--we sent you a prompt to allow us to get the pics from your pc, please contact us if you did not receive the prompt. Something like that. So I emailed them.

I'll just use the one at a time upload for now.

Heyya LDG! I'll either post some tonight or tomorrow of The One Eyed Wonder and His Brudders and Sister!

I just used the bulkloader yesterday with no problem. I had 6 pics of a family dog I wanted to upload and no problem whatsoever. There was a time a while ago when I couldn't use it either but it seems to be working fine now. I hope it will start working for you. I have been using Photobucket for years and now and then there is a problem but they usually fix it.

I do the same thing as you posting pics. Your kitty is beautiful by the way. She looks like my Rainbow Angel Misty

Basically clicking the mountains in a post or copying the img tags is the same thing. They both just put the proper coding around the url needed to make the picture show up.
I use photobucket the most and if when I click "Upload images and videos" I will just hold down CTRL and click multiple pictures and then they will all upload. The bulk uploaded randomly works for me but most of the time it is just too annoying to bother with!
Sometimes I will use Flickr but not that often and the same with Picasa, I usually forget about it though! LOL!

I have tried holding down the CTRL also to upload multiple pictures and it works but it seems to duplicate the pics and I have to go back and delete all the duplicates. Does this happen to you? This is why I use the bulkloader instead.

I'm wondering if you are not somehow double clicking the mouse. I've done that a few times and, yes, double images show up. As for my typing---weeeellllll

Nope havent had that problem. You may want to try using the arrows and hitting enter on the pics you want and see if that helps at all!
