I have been residing in Red Deer, Alberta while going to school for the past two years. My current place does not allow cats, but I am hoping to move to Calgary before snowfall. There is no work for me in Red Deer, and in Calgary I have a place lined up with a friend. He will be rentling the place from his uncle and aunt who are planning to move back to El Salvador. With this being said, I might be allowed to get a pet if I move there and my first and only choice would be a cat. I cannot take Mango or Herbie since they have lived at the house in Vegreville at my parents place and are the family cats. They also love it there since the house is big and the rafters in the two basement levels act as a super jungle gym and cat area. The only thing left to do would be to open my friend's mind to the awesome complex world of cats and their individual personalities. I have found that when I was in Vegreville, the cats adapt to the personality of their owners. Mango loved laying by my feet while I was on my computer in bed and he was very friendly and would interact with people sometimes and other times preferred to be on his own. That is basically what my personality is like. This friend is an immigrant from El Salvador and he went to college with me. He never grew up around cats and I think if given the opportunity, he would open his heart and mind to cats.He loves animals..

When I get the cat, I plan to give it a nice latino name. I am not latino but my friend is. I may name the cat Salvador or Hernandez or Juan (sounded as Kwon) if it is a male or Rosa or Salvadora if it is a female.

I will...Just gotta get things together so I can move down to Calgary before snowfall. I'm also hoping my friend Javier will open his heart and mind to cats.
My other friend, Raul, told me how he used to own an orange tabby cat in El Salvador. The cat died ..he didn't say how, but said he treasured that cat. It might have either died from old age or during the earthquake a few years back. The cat's name was Karon.

Sending mega prayers and vibes that you get your cat, and that you are moved and settled in before snow flies
I know that the Hispanic culture doesn't have as many cats as other cultures, and some people think they are bad, which I find odd because the Franciscans brought cats with them to the new world. My SIL (an El Salvadoran) took a long time to approve my brother getting a cat, and it was also an orange tabby male. She likes cats now, too
