I feed the barn cats after the horses go out and since they move to the house for the summer, keep the cat food in the Jeep. This morning, Tippy, the shy boy, jumps into the Jeep to get the 'freshest' food because, as we all know, once the food leaves the bag, it becomes contaminated by that nasty dish...but Tippy hasn't done this before. He is reserved and only rarely asks for attention. Today, he positively begged for attention after a couple of bites of food. He refused to leave the Jeep even with full dishes to go to. Lifted him down and he didn't kill me, and back up he went. Spent some time petting him and doing ear scritches, and lifted him down again. Even gave him a little cuddle (very gingerly) and all he did was lean into me.

Here's a pic of him: http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u...Picture004.jpg

Aww, that's so sweet!
I guess Tippy thought he was overdue to say hello and thank you for dinner.

Over the river and through the woods...
Awww, how sweet!
We have a colony of barn cats here, and I wonder if he's getting squeezed out at feeding time by the others and finally decided to take another approach. Either way, it looks like you have a friend
. Be careful of those barn cats though...they can be sneaky. I used to keep the food in my car too. Until I fed them one morning, drove a half hour to work, only to find a little orange tabby with a full belly curled up in my back seat when I got there. Yeah, I ended up being late that day!

No, not getting squeezed out at feeding, on the contrary, he is a tad too porky. And, yep, they are sneaky - I have to decat the Jeep when I leave the yard as one will ride happily with me for a good hour and does so in the tractor rather regularly. Most will ride in the Jeep if I take it to the barn, including Mr Shy Tippy. He was always a funny cat, even as a kitten - he and his brother were raised the same, treated the same and his brother is an unmitigated nuisance at times, all over me and Tippy is shy, reserved and elegant looking. Both of them and Jack follow me around the yard and sometimes one or two others join the parade.
