I love TCS for more than a few reasons. I love that it is officially anti-declaw and pro spay-neuter.

I love that fighting and nastiness is not tolerated.

I'm made some good friends and am deeply in love with quite a few TCS cats.

I've learned a lot. Much of what I have learned has not applied directly to me as of yet. But there are a few things I have learned here that have made things better for my cats.

I learned that cats with constipation problems do best on a low fiber grain free all canned diet. The canned part I knew. The low fiber and grain free I did not. It has benefited Jennie enourmously.

I learned about the SmartCatBox (a litter box system) here which is going to revolutionize my life as far as coping with the scooping of litter.

And after participating in a discussion about the storing of cat food, I finally did something I "kept meaning" to do for ages, I got pyrex (glass) food storage dishes for the daily use kibbles.

I am quite pleased with my purchase and have posted a pic in the pertinent thread.

That thread is here:

http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...07#post2932407

This thread is for anyone who would like to share a way that TCS has touched their lives, or their cats lives, in a positive way.

What great thread, otto!!!
I too have come to love TCS kitties and their owners as well. I have learned so many facts and helpful hints about ALL things related to my FAVE subject (cats).
Above All, I have learned and keeping learning about the kindness and strength in all of You. It's Your sincere concern and ability to forgive that makes me strive to be one in that number. It's Your acceptance of and dedication to other cat lovers, cats and all animals.
My life is better, even on my darkest days, because You are all a part of it now. I don't want to get sappy--but I guess I just did

I absolutely agree with everthing said thus far!

I love TCS because it allows me to share my love of cats with other cat lovers, people who understand and who are as passionate about them as I am. I love that I can share in the joys AND the struggles you all go through both with your kitties AND your personal lives.

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
I have to say that I love TCS for the people that are on here who one understand my way of thinking when it comes to cats (they are family not just animals) and also the help that Ive personally received on here especially when it came to getting Hercules and GiGi spayed and neutered, Id probably have 10 million kittens if it wasnt for you guys!!!! I have become a way more responsible and knowledgable pet owner because of TCS. I will even recommend this site to other cat owners off another forum to point them in the direction of help and assistance they need because Ive found hands down this is the best site for cats out there.

I LOVE TCS!!!!

I love TCS for all the reasons everyone has posted. It's a warm, knowledgeable online community, where I can come and read about others' kitties, and post about my own.

TCS rocks.

This is a great thread idea!

Of course I agree with the general sentiments of the posts above, and I want to add that I'm on TCS to get a perspective of how "cat culture" is abroad, especially in the US since that's where most members seem to be from.

I am on a huge Dutch cat forum too but the different outlook on TCS can be refreshing. I might not always post much but I do read.

I wouldn't even know where to begin.... the best place is probably the eight cats we've rescued that now share their home with us.

Of course I appreciate TCS for all the reasons mentioned, but what springs first to my mind is the easily multiple thousands of cats that have better lives because of this site.
Whether it is that their owners provide for their needs better in some way, or because people have been inspired to rescue in some way... the lives of so many cats have been touched.

My most recent appreciation/inspiration is that learning about FIV was so quick and easy to do because of TCS and its wonderful members, and thanks to TCS, we are loving Chumley, and he is loving living here.

I come here for any type of kitty questions I need answered, there are so many of you here that I usually get the answer pretty quickly.

I also have received much help on the Tech thread when I have any computer questions, I have received an answer every time and one that solved my problem.

I also come here because I am surrounded by other cat lovers and what could be better than that

I love TCS because I can come here and talk to other cat people and not be judged for loving my cats because everyone is here because they love their cats!

I love TCS for so many reasons!! I love that once I adopted my blind kitty and found this site, I got so much advice, and so many well wishes! I love that I can feel normal having 7 kitties+2strays, when the people I know "in real life" think that is crazy to have so many. I love that I can come here and see adorable cat pictures, read stories about cats and get awesome advice from other cat lovers.
Mainly, I love that there is a site that I an come to and talk about cats! I mean openly, talk about all the joys, sorrows and everyday life with cats....with other people who love cats as much as I do.

I pretty much owe ALL of my knowledge on how to raise a kitten and now cat to TCS!!
I registered to TCS the same day I got my baby Jake, it was a spur of the moment decision and I needed advice badly since I had never in my adult life had been responsible for an animal. I kept reading, asking questions and researching what's best for him, and with all the support I received it all turned out great!! Now almost two years later Jake is thriving and happy

Some of the answers I got were, whether or not to get him neutered, whether declawing was a good option(sooo glad I got to read about this before doing anything I'd regret), whether I should vaccinate him and which vaccines are safest....it just goes on and on!!

Hooray for TCS!

I, too, have been touched by the kindness of countless members on here. It isn't hard to see why this site has been going strong for 10 years now! It really has a community feel to it, everyone is more than eager to try to help a member with a question or concern, whether it be about cats or personal matters. I've learned tons from reading all sorts of posts about anything and everything, whether they apply to my cat or me, or not.

And of course, who can resist the Fur Pics Forum???

Thanks everyone for making a great website! I am proud to be a part of it!

I love TCS because of the vast information in the health forums, the fun threads in the lounge, and the great debates in IMO. We all share at least one thing: the deep love we have for our cats. People may look at us like we're crazy off this site, but on here, it's just a group of wonderful people

Man, where to begin? Others have said a lot of what I think and feel.

I have learned oodles about cats on here and where to go to get ADDITIONAL information. My boys are happier and healthier because of the information shared in these forums. And I know I am a better meowmy.

I have also directed people here ...even if they just search for info or lurk.

And I have made some lovely cyber-friends!

And no one on here judges me for having seven felines in my house. Or asks me when am I getting rid of some of them (family questions.) Grrr! They think it's weird I have this many. I have told them... not where I hang out is isn't!

I also
TCS for all the great members here. I signed up when I had my hands full with newborn kittens (never had kittens before) to learn how to best care for them.

I originally was going to adopt them out except for one but I saw so many posts about there is not much difference between numbers of cats other than monetary expense. I am not short on love so that was never a thought. I look at my three almost grown kittens and thank the stars I kept them all.

I also like the outpouring of support in the CTB section. I thank each and everyone who helped me get through Boomer's passing.

I need to get more into the raw feeding discussion. Just like with myself and my kids, I want my kitties to eat better!!!

The one thing I don't like is that I always kill threads....my sad luck

I love TCS for all of the reasons above...

but most of all TCS saved Bear's life. He would have died if I hadn't read JinJin & Cello's threads about liver problems. I learned that if a cat doesn't have a appitite then you should check their skin color, if it's yellow then it is ciritical.

Bear refused ONE meal, I was kinda worried but I never take an animal in for just skipping one meal. Someone had puked a couple times but I wasn't able to pin-point which cat (I evenually found out that it was Bear). When he refused food I checked him over to make sure he wasn't injured.... remembered to check his skin color (per those threads) and my cat was yellow. I immediatly knew that this was very serious, put him in the carrier and raced to the vet. If I hadn't read those threads... I could have waited too long. How many people know that yellow skin = liver failure? I sure didn't until I read those threads. That is not all, Bear's vet bills were ~$3,000 over the course of 5 months and I was struggling. I am a college student and broke, Carolina gave me advice on how to get the $ together. Many people pulled us through, my cat is still breathing today and he is thriving again.

If all of that hadn't fallen into place my sweet baby boy would have died.

TCS is a wealth of information. If you ask, you always get an answer... not just one but many from different point of views. We laugh, cry, rejoice, love, and morn together... we are family.

I've learnt about so many things, and had people offer help and opinions when I've been frustrated with vets and specialists being so mum and one-sided. I've found so many helpful gadgets for my babies, and again even the OP pointed me to something I had not caught on yet!

I also enjoy all the cool cat pictures and stories. I often do not contribute on those threads but I read and look!

I think one thing has not been mentioned yet that is very important about participating. It feels great that here one does not need to feel like an odd cat lady for having more than one or two cats! There are a lot of people here who understand about multi-cat household issues and the desire to save more who are in desperate need of homes.
