OK, short notice, but Gary and I just found out. The foster network that helps us out so much with our feral kitties and friendly strays is having a fund raiser on Friday night (Sep 24) in Allamuchy (near Hackettstown - exit 19 on Route 80). It's an Italian Dinner from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. EVERYTHING they needed was donated, so the ticket (donation) for the dinner is just $8.00 and there's going to be HEAPS of home made food and goodies! (Not to mention lots of cat lovers
).

The FIRST thing that occurred to me was - we could use the occasion for a TCS meet-up if anyone's interested! For those in NY, there is a bus that heads to the Panther Valley Mall from Port Authority - and Gary and I can chauffeur to/from the dinner. The bus trip is about an hour, and the drop-off in Panther Valley is literally like one or two minutes from where they're having the dinner!

If anyone's interested, please PM me!

I wish we'd known about it sooner. The funny thing is the foster network has been helping us out with our friendlies for about a year now - and we've never met any of them yet! We always drop kitties off at the vet, and just haven't ever met even in passing LOL. So I'm really looking forward to Friday. Gary says he's going come hell or high water.

I MISS JERSEYYYYY!

I would so go. Hope you two have a great time meeting your foster network members!

Just the mention of Hackettstown, Allamuchy, and Route 80, (and an Italian dinner!) made me want to get in the car now and spend a few days up there before the event

[Yes, when I was in Nebraska driving on I-80, I talked to it
I was all "so we meet again I-80... just not in the proper state...we meet again."]

There was HEAPS of food! All kinds of pasta, different sauces, meatballs, sausage, baked ziti (it was SO good!). I, of course, forgot to take pictures - though I had both the camera and the phone with me.

It was SO NICE to meet all the amazing people from the foster group!!!! We were really surprised at how many people were there. They ended up having a really good turn out - though, of course, they'd made too much food. Fortunately there was a volunteer from a homeless shelter there, so we all helped pack up the food and it won't be going to waste.

Since we have quite a few cat trees taking up space in our storage locker, and realistically we won't be moving back into a house any time soon, we decided to donate a number of them to the group. We made arrangements to meet up a week from Sunday.

....and they raised about $600. They were really pleased! Everything was donated, including the space, so it cost them nothing (but time!) to do it.
