Sorry for the new topic but I need some input like asap. Here's the situation:

The mom has tried more than once to get close to her older kittens and seems to sort of talk to them and they "talk" back as well but as soon as they get close and smell her they both start hissing at her{at the mom}. She tried several times again but it always ends up with them hissing at her. Now she went back to the newborns and she sat on them and they started crying and I saw one trying to get out from under her. I got a broom and sort of shooed her away to at least make her move but now I'm worried that she's maybe trying to kill them maybe because the older kittens also hiss at the newborns and don't let mom get near them???

This is all driving me insane. I'm really really afraid that they may die or that she may harm them or maybe the older kittens will.

But I don't have anywhere to put them.

I only have 1 bedroom were my mom and I sleep with my 3 dogs and cat and we use the one bathroom constantly or I'd put them there and they aren't ready to be given away yet because they aren't that friendly. This whole thing is so crazy.

Still, the bathroom is the usual alternative... You can perhaps set up some net in the door? Or if you can find som sort of big cage? Lend a dog cage from somewhere. Or you perhaps have access to some cellar??
So the mom will get peace at least sometimes...

Them hissing at mom is prob the mom smells differently now, with the new babies. And she is prob high up on stress hormones, so they feel there is something not so very pleasant....

Thanks guys! We couldn't get them out of the room but we did a fort thing with wood planks around the mom and, so far they've spent since yesterday on the bed in the office sleeping/playing and haven't tried to go near them mom or the newborns again. (^_^)

How have the kittens fared? I once found a day-old kitten a feral mother had abandoned. I nursed it for a few days and then took it to a shelter. She's a feisty cat now with a great home.
