I have a male cat aptly named....baby....
I've recently moved from the sheltered confines of an apartment, to a house in the country. Baby was six or seven months old when I adopted him, and he is probably almost a year now, i'm not too sure. I haven't had the money to "cut" him, but I thought he loved me enough to stay with me.....
. I have to keep my house open because of no airconditioning, which gives him full access to the windows and the sounds of the five or six female cats outside. There is another tomcat who "owns" the neighborhood and all of the females. I call him Pimp Daddy Tom Cat.....
My Baby doesn't want to leave the porch area and won't even go outside for fear of gettin' his butt kicked once again by Pimp Daddy. The only time he will go out onto the porch is if i go with him and sit....~laughs~
Anyways, just a bit of background for all you readers out there...my question is this...due to the age of my Baby...is it too late to neuter him?? He has already begun spraying selected areas of the house...which in turn gets him sprayed with Fabreze and the area he teed on. There is a female cat he seems interested in...but Pimp Daddy Tom Cat will NOT let my Baby get any of the action....i think Pimp Daddy is part wild cat due to the area of my location...and i think he will kill my Baby if given the chance.
Also, i think it is so cute...but when i come home from work...Baby literally plops onto his side and rolls around like a lunatic kitty who has overdosed on catnip...pulling himself by his claws...along his side, while lying down. Is this a normal reaction from a male cat who is (for better choice of words )...horny and ready for some female action?

Will the opens windows still entice him after he is neutered??
I have so many questions...and i love my Baby to death....i don't want to see him get killed by Pimp Daddy or possibly a car on the road....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get that boy fixed ASAP. The other male will indeed kill him if given a chance. Even the females could carry a disease that could kill your cat. For his saftey and health, keep him inside.

Fabreeze will not remove the "spray" from your home. You will need to get an enzymatic cleaner like Natures Remedy. To make sure all the spray has been removed use a black light an inch or so above the floor in a dark room. Going inch by inch look for a glow. Spray this down with the cleaner making sure it wets the surface of all the glowing area.

Good luck with baby, he needs your protection from outside dangers. Keep him safe inside and fixed and he will live a long happy life.

I don't think it's ever too late to spay and neuter. It will prolong his life and prevent making unwanted kitties.

I protect my windows by putting up decorative trellis on the inside. I have the kind that has small lattice work, so it lets air and light into the room, but stops screens from being knocked out and cats from getting inside or out. Putting it up with two screws, it stays secure and has been quite successful for me. It is not like having bars on the windows- because it is easily removed by hand anytime I need it to be. You can get it at any home depot store.

My cats do this, and so do any cats I know. I take it to mean that they are happy to see me, and want to play.
