Too bad I didn't see this with my own eyes. Brady, my ex-feral, is not a very snuggly cat. I pick him up maybe twice a week and he lets me pet him for about 20 seconds before he gets fed up. Still, he likes us and his doggy buddies, staying close but just out of reach, or head butting one of us just before dinnertime.

Last night after I went to bed, Brady jumped up on hubby's lap and PURRED for about 20 minutes. Hubby got up, and when he sat back down, Brady did it AGAIN! It only took about four years!

Awesome report! Sometimes it just takes them a bit longer to get the hang of being a lap cat. It took my Callie 10 YEARS!!

That's great! Has it really been 4 years since you got Brady??!!

My Apollo is a semi-feral and it's really only been in the last few months where he doesn't immediately run from me when I'm walking thru the house
He's my "bathroom buddy" because as soon as I go in there he is right there wanting to be petted
hasn't gotten into my lap, but he will occassionally sit next to me n the couch

Yes it's been four years.
But he doesn't snuggle with me, only with hubby. He did however give me a foot massage while I was still in bed a couple of times so that makes up for it. One time this past month when I was in the bathtub, there he was standing on his hind legs with his front paws on the tub rim, wondering what I was doing.

He and the doggies are best buddies, although they can't seem to find a way to play with each other.

In the evening when I lie on the loveseat, Brady will curl up on the top of the backrest so he likes to stay close but just out of reach.

I think he is one smart cat - he's figured out that a warm place to sleep, free food and medical care are better than the freedom to live outside, freeze in the winter, and hunt for his own food anyday! He does still go outdoors, I can't see keeping him inside. He wouldn't put up with it.
