Would you want to know?

Would you want to everything that your President, Prime Minister, the leader of your country knows? I mean in regards classified information, etc. My answer is no. I would not want to know what President Obama does. There are certain things I am curious about, but it's probably best that I am blissfully unware or unsure of the answers.

To be honest, I'm not sure I would want to know. Sometimes it's better not to know what's going on, we won't be able to do anything about it anyway.

One of the reasons that there is a fairly consistent foreign policy in the U.S. is that the President learns things that are not common knowledge. President Obama talked about a lot of changes, but, to a large extent, he's kept and even officially extended many policies from previous administrations that he criticized before his election.

There are always things the President knows that would do no U.S. citizen any good to know, and would likely harm Americans if it did become common knowledge.

It IS possible to be too secretive, however. I'm just not sure where the line would be. And that's why we have watchdogs like the Supreme Court and Congress.

Alot of stuff has leaked out. If the general public knew what kind of stuff the government knows, it would be SCARY!

i.e. There was 1 hole in the Pentagon. The jet that supposedly flew into it had the fuselage and an engine on both wings. To me, that would make 3 holes, not one. Our government had a hand in 9/11.

Very interesting question, o.k you will think I am mad but there is this rumour that the world is going to end in 2012, this really worries me, I mean so badly I have anxiety attacks over this, apparently the government will know if this is true? I know it was notradamus who predicted this and he also said it would end in the millenium so probably a load of rubbish but it really does play on my mind. My thoughts were if the government knows this why are they spending so much on the 2012 olympics in London over here? Ok I am mad , it really is something that worries me though. x

I wouldn't want to know what he knows. Has anybody noticed how much the presidency ages a person? I saw him on tV the other day and he is already looking worn. It's such a heavy burden

No way! There are just some things that we as the general public are better off not knowing!

Yes, we hear rumours and those rumours are likely true, but not actually knowing means that we can stick our heads in the sand and go about living our lives without all of the fear and daily worry.

What you may have heard or seen is completely consistent with the crash of an airplane flying almost 500 mph hitting the building. (Keep in mind that you have probably never seen an airplane the size of a Boeing 757 flying at that speed. That is almost 3 times the landing speed of that jet, and never done at less than 10,000 feet altitude.)

Debunking the Pentagon Conspiracy Myths

Apparently, when a plane hits a very solid building like the Pentagon, it's not like when Wile E. Coyote runs into a brick wall... it doesn't leave a perfect imprint of itself!

However, when you look at video of the first tower in NY, you can see the plane's outline right out to the wingtips... probably because most of the outer wall of that structure was glass.

And then you look at the relatively small crater in the ground in Pennsylvania, with so little debris... it's as if the earth swallowed that plane whole.

So many variants in play... it's not surprising that unpredictable things occur. I don't believe for a moment that the federal government contributed anything to 9/11 except incompetence (and that's coming from someone with absolutely no love for the Bush administration).

NOW, in answer to the question: Yes, I would like to know what the President knows, but I don't think I'd want the general public to know it. Just me! Above all else, I want to know:

1. Who shot John and Bobby Kennedy,

2. Whether the man who shot Martin Luther King had official help in avoiding prosecution for so long,

3. What is the state of our knowledge and control regarding nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons material (our own and everyone else's), and

4. Whether anyone, anywhere has hard evidence of extraterrestrial life visiting our solar system.

Me, too! And what's up with the Denver Airport? Is there some kind of secret underground facility there, like there once was at the Greenbrier Hotel? And if so, why is it so far from Washington, DC? There are many things I am curious about, but if it was either know-all-government-secrets or know none, I'd still want to know none.

I'd like to post an interesting story about Former President Carter, who I respect very much. I'm too sleepy to search for a link tonight. I don't want to get the facts all mixed up, so I'll post it tomorrow.

Actually, there's pretty good public information out there if you know where to look, and especially if you know how to read between the lines. A good example is Iran and its nuclear program, and sales of technology from North Korea to Iran. They bought a version of the Taepodong Korean two-stage missile, and can very likely hit Israel with a nuke at this point. They've had a version of the No Dong (one stage) for a while now.

Hughes sold China a satellite launcher back in... 1995. We watched the news reports of the satellite blowing up. How sad. As it happened over shallow water, Gary went bonkers, and said it was on purpose - Hughes had conspired to "sell" China guidance systems. Lo and behold, 6 or 7 years later, Hughes and Boeing paid a $32 million fine. ...and China now has ballistic missiles that not only can leave the atmosphere, but have the accuracy to blow up a satellite orbiting the planet. Keep an eye on the civil fines paid by defense contractors.

Biological weapons development by terrorists I'm quite sure the govt knows more than is publicly available, but the amount of missing nuclear material is pretty well documented.

I wouldn't want to know what the President knows. Gary would.

I'm not overly .... curious .... about the issue of extra terrestrial life. I am convinced the universe is so large there is definitely other intelligent life out there. Our existence on the planet is still just a blip in time in the sense of the scale of the universe - and we only began broadcasting in the 1920s, so the likelihood that any intelligent life out there has "seen" us is basically a statistical improbability.
