I was recently made aware of something called Teal Toes last week. It is all about Ovarian Cancer Awareness in the month of September. I found out about it on Facebook and I think it is a great way to get attention to a very important subject. I thought I would share it with you all. I hope to hear of many of you sporting teal toes for the rest of the month and maybe longer. I have already had people ask why my toes are Teal or comment on my daughter's toes. When I explain why it spreads the word.

I have a pic of my toes with my daughter's Teal Toes for the month of September.

That's a very cute picture.

It seems kind of weird to me, though, to promote painting nails to raise cancer awareness, since almost all polishes contain toxic chemicals that have been linked to cancer.

Don't get me wrong, I love painting my nails, but I do it very, very rarely after looking into the health hazards. Even then I feel kind of guilty since I've now seen first-hand how cancer is SO horrible.

But I love the picture with you and your daughter's toenails and jeans, it's a keeper - very sweet.

I am glad you like the picture. My 2 year old likes it when our toes match.
I see what your saying about the hazards. There are better nail polishes out there, with plenty of color choices, including teal tones.

Here is one you can get: http://store.karmaorganicspa.com/nail-polish.html

They actually have one specifically named for this cause.

Quite possibly one of the cutest Mommy/Daughter pics ever! You should enter it in a Mother/Daughter look-alike contest.

You inspired me and I bought some teal polish this morning.

The brand I bought was Nicole by OPI and as far as health concerns, this is from their website -

Since 2006, OPI has reformulated its entire line of Nail Lacquers, Nail Treatments, and Nail Hardeners to eliminate DBP (dibutyl phthalate) and Toluene.

Formaldehyde has never been an ingredient in OPI Nail Lacquers or Nail Treatments.
It may not be perfect, but it is better than some of the ones out there.

Adorable picture. Love the color. I never ever bother to paint my toenails, but I did go out and buy this color and plan to paint them. Thanks for the inspiration. I bought a vegan no bad stuff natural nail polish, very pricey and hard to find for the average person, however, it isn't like I need a ton of polishes. One is more than sufficient for me.

LOVE that color
And for a great cause. I need to paint my toenails again. I did a few months ago, but it's a pain in the butt
