My sweet George passed away only three weeks ago. The house has been deathly quiet and Megan misses someone to follow around since she's not allowed in the Mama & Lizbeth Club. Since DH and I are both still employed, we felt that we should really adopt another. We fell in love with a shelter cat at Petsmart that no one has taken home. He's been in a cage for 5 months. I know there are some that have been there longer but I needed a totally laid back boy in order to blend into our current family since Mama is freaked out a bit by other cats. Today we went to adopt him. He is a lovebug . It's so different from what I'm used to because most of my life strays or ferals just show up in my yard. This kitty actually likes people
They estimate he's about 5 yrs old and have named him Donovan. That is cute, but too many syllables.

Anyone have any ideas? He's a large long-haired boy (shelter pictures aren't that great)

Gino popped into my mind when I saw him. And it's a soft G sound, like George.

Thanks, everyone! The Italian names are great because I was thinking of Tony.

I'm no good with names, but he's a real cutie!

Glad that he's going to be out of the cage that he's been in for 5 months.

I thought about that but I think of Donnie Osmond and it just doesn't fit him

I think you are the only one who can give him a proper name, where he responds to you in a positive way.......Oh yeah, he is adorable

maybe . ....
*sigh* Nope. It's just not there yet. I wish he was out roaming where I could observe his behaviour more but he's quarantined in his bedroom for the required kitty introduction time.

It's funny someone mentioned "Rocket" Mama had a baby like him (a little long haired boy) and the family that took his named him Rocket.

So many excellent names!
