Been perusing youtube for 80's classics the past few days...and getting paid for it...BWAHAHAHA!!!, and getting my fix of the staples that everyone loves (or SHOULD love): ABBA, Frampton, Blondie, etc...

But do you guys remember this? I can actually remember when this was on the radio. Can't think of too many songs that got it so right, the "denial" mentality after being dumped, and the lyrical shamlessness with which it cuts to the core.

The only song that makes me feel like total garbage, no matter my pre-listening mindset. Which, really is the makings of a great song. It is in total command of your senses.

I remember the song, though I had forgotten about it. I graduated from high school in 1983, so I still go around singing Modern Love and She's a Beauty. I also sing Abracadabra to Speck sometimes.

AAAAAAAAHHHH, but, Keycube, I'm Not in Love was a 70s song, not 80s. Would have come out in probably 1976 because the first time i heard it was on a jukebox in a Boston Pizza in Saskatoon that year after I brought a load of horses back from Alberta. I had already 'gone country' because of the disco mess that surfaced and blasted eardrums in late 76 although I still listened to real rock when it could be found which was rarely on the radio. FM stations were not terribly common then but a few existed and they were the salvation of true rock until disco finally died a long awaited death. As to 80s music, certain of the hair bands were great and still are - Bon Jovi, Van Halen (with David Lee Roth), Aerosmith, Def Leppard, etc and the survivors of disco kept on cranking out the hits, of course.

Oh wow, you're right. I clearly haven't squared with being 40.

I love 80s music also, I love 70s music (yes, even disco) more
I have often thought I might have been born at least a decade to late

I like 80s funk and techno/dance type songs, like "Electric Avenue", Pet Shop Boys, Human League, but i must admit to being fan of the ballads also, would love to get an Air Supply Greatest Hits album

I listen to 80s music fairly often. But not the new wave or poppy stuff - for some reason people think that and the glam rock of the 80s is all there was.

Currently listening to Coroner - a Swiss thrash band that formed back in the 80s.

Don't feel bad about being 40 - I am old enough to remember when Keith Richards had a face instead of a mass of wrinkles
Am also old enough to remember the plane crash that took Patsy Cline and the crash that took Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper.........

That song is one of my all-time favorites! A quick Wikipedia check reveals that it was in the charts in 1975.

Ah, Rick Astley. I don't know how Rick Roll originated but I used to love the Rick Astley songs. I don't really like much 80's songs, normally just 90's. I like the rock genre compared to others like disco and such.

Jackz, Jazzy & Ginga.
